MONDAY NIGHT RAW - JANUARY 4, 2016

 

Stephanie comes out to the ring to kick off the first Raw of 2016. Roman Reigns comes out at the same time and tells Stephanie it's not about her tonight he's going to do what Vince did last week and he proceeds to call McMahon out.

Stephanie says Vince isn't here yet so Reigns is just going to have to wait. Reigns says the WWE Championship is his life and the WWE Universe is his family and no one is going to take that away from him

Stephanie says she's the boss, Reigns is just the hired help and she's going to use Reigns up and make him fight every night until he's broken down and the WWE Universe will then forget about him.

Stephanie says it's pathetic the way the WWE Universe holds onto a little thing called hope and that hope is not a strategy and nobody competes with Vince McMahon and wins. Stephanie says last week Reigns laughed in Vince's face by the way all charges have been dropped because you can't keep down a good millionaire. Stephanie says she's going to use Reigns just like Vince used Sika but Reigns cuts her off and tells her to worry about Vince because she'll be picking him up from the hospital tonight instead of jail if he screws Reigns out of the WWE Championship

NEVILLE VS KEVIN OWENS

Neville goes on the offense early on sending Owens to the outside. Back in the ring, Neville delivers a dropkick sending Owens back tot he outside. Neville with a moonsault from the top rope

Owens gets sent back into the ring and Neville goes to the top rope setting up for the Red Arrow. Owens goes after the injured ribs. Owens seats Neville on the top rope and delivers a DDT.

Neville rolls out of the ring. Owens follows Neville to the outside and sends him crashing into the barricade as Raw goes to break

-Commercial-

Neville beats the 10 count and Owens throws him back to the outside and sends him into the barricades. Neville runs Owens into the ring post. Dropkick from the apron to Owens,

Neville with a modified Red Arrow from the apron. Nearfall on Owens, Neville with a kick to the head and Owens seated on the top rope. Owens fighting back and Neville flips off the ropes. Neville back to the top rope but Owens leaves him hanging in the tree of woe. Owens with the cannonball in the corner follows up with a pop up powerbomb for the three count

The winner of the match: Kevin Owens

PostMatch: A fight breaks out between Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose. Ambrose puts Owens through the announce table

Backstage: Vince McMahon says yes last week he was arrested but all charges were dropped and says tonight in the WWE Championship match he's the law

TITUS O'NEIL VS STARDUST

O'Neil plants Stardust in the corner and delivers a chop. The referee backs O'Neil off of Stardust. Stardust connects with a pair of boots and unloads on O'Neil. Stardust has O'Neil ties up int he ropes. O'Neil misses with a clothesline. Stardust connects with the Disaster Kick

Forearm across the back by Stardust. Stardust drives a series of knees into O'Neil's back. Stardust with a chinlock and O'Neil gets to his feet trying to fight out of it but Stardust stays on the attack

Stardust goes after the left leg and the WWE Universe begins a "Cody" chant. Clothesline by O'Neil , Stardust with a kick to the face and O'Neil connects with a big boot of his own. Running clothesline in the corner followed up by the Clash Of The TItus for the three count

The winner of the match: Titus O'Neil

Backstage: Becky Lynch is stretching and Charlotte walks in and asks if she requested the rematch for tonight and says she's not happy with it because she already beat Becky last time. Becky says well if that's the way Charlotte wants to remember it. Becky says they should have the rematch in the spirit of competition and Ric Flair walks by giving a big WOOOOOO as we go to break

-Commercial-

BECKY LYNCH VS CHARLOTTE (W/RIC FLAIR)

The friends and former stablemates played it straight-up early on with back-and-forth exchanges. Flair did a strut down at ringside to get into the match, then Becky knocked down Charlotte with some aggression. Becky helped her up to keep everything cool, but Charlotte exploded on her with forearms until the ref broke it up. Becky angrily fought back as Raw cut to break.

-Commercial-

At the top of the hour, Becky found herself trapped on Charlotte’s shoulders for a potentially devastating move, but Becky wiggled free and got a two count on a roll-up. Becky landed near the ropes, where Ric Flair grabbed Becky’s foot. Charlotte tried to capitalize by rolling up Becky, but Becky reversed and used Flair’s tactics hooking the tights for a three count on Charlotte.

The winner of the match: Becky Lynch

Post Match: Becky celebrated as Flair wildly threw his jacket around out of frustration seeing the tables turned. Charlotte stood up in the background and angrily charged Becky with a knee to the back. Charlotte followed with a beat down as Flair encouraged her to keep it up. The Flairs left the ring as Becky recovered from her bittersweet win.

Authority Office: Mr. McMahon yelled at a backstage worker to just do his job. Sheamus walked in to talk with McMahon about the WWE Title match tonight. McMahon wanted to go over some pre-match instructions. No outside interference, no foreign objects, no gouging, and no low blows. Above all else, obey his commands. Sheamus was taken aback. “May the luck of the Irish be with you,” McMahon smiled. Sheamus smiled back.

RYBACK VS BIG SHOW

The match barely gets underway when the lights suddenly go out and come back on to reveal The Wyatt Family standing over a fallen Ryback. It's a 4 on 1 attack as Big Show looks on from in the ring. The Wyatts then surround the ring. Show takes out Wyatt, Harper and Rowan. Strowman and Show face off and Wyatt attacks from behind and it's soon a 4 on 1 attack once more.

The winner of the match: None

THE USOS VS ALBERTO DEL RIO AND RUSEV

Del Rio with a side headlock. Irish whip and Del Rio with a shoulderblock. Hip toss blocked and Jimmy with a clothesline to Del Rio. Jey gets the tag and running forearm into the corner.

Snapmare by Jey. Del Rio tags Rusev and Rusev puts the boots to Jey. Series of headbutts by Rusev. Irish whip and a hiptoss blocked by Rusev wo sends Jey into the corner. The Usos with a double team and double flapjack to Rusev

Del Rio tags in and connecs with a kick. Snapmare and dropkick. Rusev back in with a kick. Irish whip and a right hand by Jimmy. Jey to the top rope is met by Rusev who throws Jey off the top rope as Raw goes to break

-Commercial-

Back from break, the Leaguie Of Nations is in control as Del Rio delivers a DDT to Jey. Kick by Del Rio and Rusev is back in with a chinlock on Jey. Jimmy in unloading with clotheslines. Running splash in the corner by Jimmy.

Jimmy picks Del Rio up and Del  Rio goes after the arm. Del Rio misses with a kick. Jimmy with an enziguri. Jimmy goes to the top rope and Del Rio chops him down. Del Rio has Jimmy in the tree of woe but misses with the double stomp. Thrust kick to Del Rio and Jimmy with the big splash from the top rope.

Jimmy clotheslines Rusev over the top rope. Jimmy dives over the top rope and Jey through the ropes both taking out Rusev. Del Rio with a running engizuri sends Jey shoulder first into the ring post. Del Rio off the top rope with a double stomp for the three count

DOLPH ZIGGLER VS HEATH SLATER

Ziggler goes after Slater's arm.  Roll up by Zigger and a front facelock on Slater. Irish whip by Ziggler and Slater avoids a superkick. Waistlock by Slater and Ziggler with a leg takedown stretching Slater out with a surfboard

Slater picks Ziggler up and another roll up by Ziggler. Running splash into the corner. Snampare by Ziggler, he drops an elbow. Back to the fornt facelock as he backs Slater in the corner. Slater with a right hand. Kneelift to Ziggler and Slater with right hands. Ziggler with a neckbreakwer.

Slater misses with a clothesline in the corner. Slater with a high knee. Slater yanks Ziggler to the mat by the hair. Slam by Slater and Slater misses with an elbow drop. Ziggler with a DDT to Slater. Slater sets up for the superkick. Adam Rose up on the apron for the distraction. Dallas up on the apron and Slater with a roll up for the three count

Post Match: Heath Slater and company cut a promo announcing the formation of a new stable. Social Outcasts

Backstage: Vince McMahon runs the rules of tonight's match by Roman Reigns

New Day come out and cut a promo on how 2016 will be a magical year for them and how they will break Kalisto. They announce they have a present for the WWE Universe but are interrupted by the surprise appearance of Chris Jericho. He welcomes everyone to RAW IS JERICHO

Jericho says he's the party host and the Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla and 16 years later he's hear to once again save the WWE. New Day say they've already saved WWE through the power of positivity.

Jericho calls the New Day jackasses and they look positively stupid with the horns on their head.s. Jericho says he missed the WWE Universe and apologizes for the WWE Universe having to sit through five minutes of Green Day and their rooty tooty gyration.

Jericho gets a "rooty tooty" chant going and tells New Day to shut the hell up and January 24 Y2J is officially entering the Royal Rumble match and during that match he's going to throw out 29 superstars including New Day and then go on to main event Wrestlemania. And everyone from the boss to the monkeys in the truck to the other superstars watching on the monitors backstage will never ever be the same again

KALISTO AND THE DUDLEY BOYZ VS THE NEW DAY

Bbba and Woods lock up and Woods with a right hand to the arm. Bubba backs Woods into the corner and a clean break by Bubba who then delivers a chop to Woods

Kingston gets chopped as Bubba works over the arm. Kalisto back in working over the arm. New Day takes over but Dudleys quickly turn the match around once more.

-Commercial-

Back from break New Day taking over. Big E with a splash onto Kalisto from the apron. Big E putting the boots to Kalisto. Woods works the trombone as  Big E starts dancing. Kingston with a kick to Kalisto. Big E with another splash to Kalisto. Kalisto on the apron with a kick and Big E gets sent to the floor.

Kalisto tags Deovn unloads with clotheslines on Woods. Shoulder tackle and neckbreak. Kingston gets planted. Splash in the corner and another shoulder tackle to Woods. Woods from behind with a roll up

Bubba with a back body drop. Bubba takes out Kingston. Quick jabs and an elbow to Big E. Full Nelson slam to Kingston. Kalisto dives throu the ropes and Big E catches him driving him into the barricades.

Bubba with a slam. Devon tags and get ready to hit the What's Up but Woods trips Devon. New Day with the Midnight Hour for the three count

ROMAN REIGNS VS SHEAMUS - WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

Sheamus on the offense out of the gate going for an early pinfall on Reigns. Sheamus has Reigns in the corner unloading with punches. Reigns slides out of the corner unloading with kicks

Irish whip reversed by Sheamus and Reigns hits hard. Reigns with a right hand. Repeated clotheslines in the corner by Reigns.. Reigns with a clothesline sending both he and Sheamus over the top rope. Reigns gets driven into the steel steps

-Commercial-

Sheamus in control as we come back from break. Rolling senton to Reigns. Reigns with right hands. Both men are down, Sheamus and Reigns trade punches. Reigns unloads with clotheslines.

Reigns hangs Sheamus out on the top rope and hits the drive by. Samoan Drop by Reigns. Slow count by McMahon as Reigns glares up at him. Seamus goes for White Noise but Reigns rolls through and plants Sheamus. 2 count and McMahon feigns an eye injury

Reigns looks up at McMahon. Sheamus with a roll up from behind. Sheamus goes to deliver a big boot but Reigns shoves him into the ropes and delivers the Superman Punch. Another slow count as Reigns gets in McMahon's face

Reigns goes to spear Sheamus but switches gears and lays McMahon out with a Superman Punch. Reigns counters the Brogue Kick and hits a spear. Another drive by to Sheamus and another Superman Punch as Sheamus gets sent over the announce table. McMahon goes to escape but Reigns pulls him back in and stalks McMahon

Reigns grabs McMahon gets thrown around by Reigns and Stephanie runs down and climbs into the ring. Reigns throws Vince into Stepanie and then stalks Stephanie. Reigns goes to spear McMahon but Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick and calls for another official

Scott Armstrong runs in and counts before Reigns kicks out at 2. Sheamus gets into Armstrong's face. Armstrong picks Reigns up. Superman Punch to Armstrong, Superman Punch to Sheamus and a third official runs in to count the pinfall

The winner of the match: Roman Reigns

Post Match: McMahon informs Reigns that the next time he defends the WWE Championship will be at the Royal Rumble pay per view when he defends the title against 29 other men in the Royal Rumble Match itself
