As we previously reported, Japanese wrestling legend Jushin "Thunder" Liger is scheduled to work the WWE “NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn” event on August, 22 in what is being described as a a political move against Ring of Honor according to F4WOnline.com
Dave Meltzer reports that WWE are trying to compete with Ring of Honor, who are also running a show in Brooklyn on the same night by brining in more notable Japanese name to their events.
Ring of Honor has a history of booking their events in the same location as some of WWE's biggest events with this years SummerSlam being no exception.
In addition to Liger, New Japan has booked Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika Okada and Kushida for ROH that same night at Brooklyn’s MCU Park. Liger will be working “NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn,” facing off against Tyler Breeze.
