We reported on Tuesday that Sami Zayn suffered an injury during his match with John Cena on Monday's Raw. It now transpires the injury happened before he got in the ring when he threw his arms up to play to his hometown crowd in Montreal.

The decision was made to send Zayn for an MRI today to evaluate the injury which is now reported to be a rotator cuff injury, it's unknown at this stage if it is torn according to PWInsider.

Zayn's next scheduled match will be against WWE NXT champion Kevin Owens in the main event of the WWE NXT Takeover special on 5/20.
