Early Buyrate Numbers For ROH's Final Battle PPV

Posted By: Jason Patrick on Jan 22, 2015

The early buyrate for Ring of Honor's Final Battle pay-per-view, which took place on December 7th and featured Jay Briscoe vs. Adam Cole in a Fight Without Honor in the main event, is 8,000. This number is down from their buyrate for Best in the World, their first live pay-per-view from last June and is the same amount of buys that TNA did for its biggest show of the year, Bound for Glory in October.

Dave Meltzer noted that hes been told that ROH's parent company, Sinclair Broadcasting are unhappy with the number which may be why all top talent have been booked for the 13th Anniversary pay-per-view on March 1st in Las Vegas. That PPV will feature AJ Styles' first ROH pay-per-view appearance, as well as Alberto Él Patron, The Young Bucks, The Addiction, Matt Sydal and others. The hope is that these names can attract a more casual audience who may not have purchased Final Battle. SBG don't want to be in the business of losing money as under their management ROH has made them a profit since they purchased the company in May 2011.
