On Monday night's edition of WWE Raw, Jerry "the King" Lawler made the comment that Christian, along with Edge, was "retired." Paul Heyman then made the statement that Christian had "too many concussions to ever wrestle again."

Both of these statements have led to speculation amongst fans that Christian has actually retired from active competition in WWE, though no official announcement has been made regarding his in-ring status. It's also entirely possible that Lawler's statement could have been a simple human error.

UPDATE: PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has informed them that Christian is, in fact, retired from active competition and that the comment made by Jerry Lawler was not in error. Word from WWE is that due to the number of injuries and concussions Christian has suffered, the company has pulled him from the ring.
