WNS Jobs: Columnist, Event Coverage and News Reporters Wanted

A number of voluntary job positions at WNS have become available.

Please read job description carefully and apply now!

» Volunteer Position —  WNS Columnist

We are looking for volunteer pro-wrestling writers to help expand the columnist section of our website WrestlingNewsSource.com.

It is a great role for someone wanting to gain experience in writing and journalism but also for current a columnist wanting to further expose their work to a wider audience.

The website currently consists of articles on a variety of pro-wrestling topics. Including topical pieces, debates and historical flashbacks. The aim is to cover as many areas of pro-wrestling covered by all the writers, so please mention in you application the theme and style of your writing.

Ideally you will be able to commit to writing around one or two articles each week, but this is very flexible so please do get in contact if you would only have time to write once a month or so, as long as you can commit to a regular schedule we are happy to have you join WNS!

» Volunteer Position — WNS News Reporter

 

We are looking for volunteer pro-wrestling news reporter to help assist with daily news, results, spoilers and rumors on our website WrestlingNewsSource.com.

The successful applicant will be expected to join and support the ambitions of WNS as it strengthens its news team over the next 6 months. The successful candidate will have tenacious and dedicated nature and will draw on previous experience.

The Reporter will source and produce news reports for the main site which will be seen by hundreds of thousands of fans a month, supporting the team at large and the WNS Directors by streamlining processes and providing cover at key time.

The position requires not only a confident and able reporter, but a vibrant, communicative individual who will relish the opportunity to be given the responsibility to manage their own time.

Positions available:

» Every Thursday - 10am - 5pm EST*

» Every Saturday 10am -4pm EST*

* These times are rough estimates but are stated as cover is needed regularly during this time frame.

» Regular News reporter - No set times, but can flex to post on any given day and support the time when required.

Benefits of position: This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to expose their work to a large audience on a regular basis.

Requirements:
Previous experience is highly desirable but not necessary.

» Availabilty - Please do not apply if you have no time or commitments that might get in the way of fulfilling this position.
» Strong spelling and grammar.
» Understanding of how pro-wrestling news media works.

Duties include:
» Sourcing news from top sources (The Wrestling Observer, PWInsider, PWTorch, Newspapers etc)
» Maintaining a regular posting pattern.
» Ability to write news reports in YOUR OWN words and style.
» Keeping on top of key stories and social media.

We are looking for volunteer Event Coverage Person to help assist with weekly pro-wrestling spoilers and results on our website WrestlingNewsSource.com.

The successful applicant will be expected to join and support the ambitions of WNS with regards to providing quality live coverage and results. The successful candidate will have tenacious and dedicated nature and will draw on previous experience.

The position requires you to produce event reports for the main site which will be seen by hundreds of thousands of fans a month.

The position requires not only a confident and able reporter, but a vibrant, communicative individual who will relish the opportunity to be given the responsibility to manage their own time.

Positions available:

» Every Tuesday - 6pm - 10pm EST*, To help cover and report on the WWE Main Event / SmackDown taping and provide a report with the spoilers.

» Every Wednesday 8:45pm -11:15pm EST*, To provide live play-by-play coverage for TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV.

» Every Friday 7:45pm -10:15pm EST*, To provide live play-by-play coverage for WWE SmackDown on SyFy. Note: SmackDown will be moving to Thursday in Jan. 2015, ensure this fits with your schedule.

* These times are rough estimates but are stated as cover is needed regularly during this time frame.

Benefits of position: This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to work in a fast pace environment, providing all the latest event results to large audience on a regular basis.

Requirements:
Previous experience is highly desirable but not necessary.

» Availabilty - Please do not apply if you have no time or commitments that might get in the way of fulfilling this position. We need weekly commitment.
» Strong spelling and grammar.
» Understanding of how live play-by-play coverage works.

» Sourcing SmackDown Spoilers (If applicable to the role you're applying for)
