Kris Travis' Announcement Of Battling Cancer Has Brought The Wrestling World Together

One of the most dedicated 24 hours I have seen since being with this website has occurred within the last day.

On Saturday night, a UK Independent wrestler named Kris Travis announced to the world that he was battling stomach cancer and has had part of his stomach removed and a tumor cut. Since then, worldwide (and I mean worldwide) support has come in. A number of the top UK promotions and websites have pulled together for his cause and seen an incredible turnout.

Future Pro Wrestling launched an Indiegogo donation page which has so far reached £2,487 in just over 24 hours. Preston City Wrestling have done likewise with their page which has reached £2,528 in their efforts. They have also launched a Kris Travis Charity Show on January 23rd, 2015 where all profits will go to Kris.

One of Scotland's finest exports Adrian "Lionheart" McCallum has in the last 24 hours raised awareness everywhere on Social Media managing to reach out to William Regal, Chris Jericho, Kevin Steen, Drew Mcintyre to name just some.

Southside Wrestling is also joining in by launching a £1 donation on their "SHOP" which you can find here.

Needless to say, there are MANY ways to contribute to Kris Travis which the UK wrestling circuit has taken to social media massively. Many are friends of his and colleagues whilst many are fans who he has sacrificed his body for over the years. The way that social media has launched this huge effort to help Kris is a positive argument for social media and a huge sign of the respect and love found within wrestling as a whole. Whilst the subject matter maybe nasty, the warmth around this is simply touching.
