WNS Predicts: WWE Night of Champions 2014

It's time, yet again, for another WWE PPV. The writers of Wrestling News Source got together to put our predictions together for Night of Champions 2014.

Rusev (4) vs. Mark Henry (1)

Stephen Wilds: Rusev
You didn’t give it to Swagger, so not giving it to Henry.

Richard James Hughes: Rusev
Rusev wins. Crush.

Garvin: Rusev
I actually see this going similarly to how Rusev has been booked at PPVs so far: Rusev will look weakened, but will damage his opponent enough to steal the victory. It won’t be clean. Henry won’t tap out. But, Rusev will get the win via countout or disqualification.

John Huxall: Rusev
Rusev, crush!

FTW Podcast: Mark Henry

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins has been cancelled after Reigns was rushed to the hospital for emergency Hernia surgery.

Chris Jericho (0) vs. Randy Orton (4)

Stephen Wilds: Randy Orton
The Masterful Mr. Jericho is getting ready to leave us once again, so I see this going to Randy.

Richard James Hughes: Randy Orton
Orton wins and send Jericho packing to his Fozzy Tour. Nothing to say here, but should a good match. Strange placement of what could be a main event match once upon a time.

Garvin: Randy Orton
I wish we didn’t know that Jericho was leaving. But it is what it is. Then again, WWE didn’t help make this story even remotely interesting anyways.

John Huxall: Randy Orton
Y2J has confirmed that he is off to tour with Fozzy and that his time has come to an end on the last few episodes of Talk Is Jericho (highly recommended). So this will be another legend killed by The Viper. I expect it to be a good match as Jericho always brings out the best in others. Sad to see him go, but loving the new Fozzy album!

FTW Podcast: Randy Orton

TTC: Usos (1) vs. The Dust Brothers (4)

Stephen Wilds: Dust Brothers
I have to side with the Dust Brothers, as I shall call them now, because it is a good time for a change. I still wish the Wyatts were in this thing though.

Richard James Hughes: Dust Brothers
Dusts take the belt, and increase the heel run they are on. They look better as heels, and it was the Usos time to give up awhile back to the Wyatts. Dusts win and go on to face maybe the Ascention.

Garvin: Usos
I know I’m in the minority on this one, but knowing that The Ascension is coming up soon, I think it would make for a better story for them to topple the team that no one else could, including the Wyatt’s and The Dust Brothers, rather than having Goldust and Stardust just act as transitional champions.

John Huxall: Dust Brothers
Their time is now. I want the bizarre ones to take the gold! It's a great tag team and I really believe they'll do it.

FTW Podcast: Dust Brothers

DC: Paige (4) vs. AJ (0) vs. Nikki (1)

Stephen Wilds: Paige
I want to see Paige retain, but I am okay with AJ winning also. I have been loving this.

Richard James Hughes: Paige
During all the chaos, Paige will sneak the win after Nikki lays AJ out or something to that effect. Should be a fun match, would be better with Brie however.

Garvin: Paige
I like this story, minus the Nikki part. I think Nikki is the obvious choice, and I really hope WWE avoids putting the title between the Bellas. They don’t need it, nor does the story require it to move forward. Paige and AJ do require the title, though, and having Paige get another one over on AJ would help drive AJ to go after it again. Paige losing here would hurt her credibility, and WWE hasn’t done enough to really help build her as a top contender.

John Huxall: Paige
I can't see Nikki winning, AJ might but I think it makes sense to leave the belt on Paige for now.

FTW Podcast: Nikki

USC: Sheamus (1) vs. Cesaro (4)

Stephen Wilds: Sheamus
I want Cesaro to win, but I want the point. I know McMahon is not behind Cesaro, but maybe Triple H convinced him. I’ll be happier if Cesaro wins, but going with Sheamus.

Richard James Hughes: Cesaro
Cesaro finally wins and makes the US Title relevant. Should be a very hard hitting, european contest and probably the MOTN. Cesaro brings back the Euro Title too.

Garvin: Cesaro
Sheamus has been pretty quiet with the title. Much like most past Champions in the last 2-3 years. Cesaro won’t change that, but putting the title on Cesaro would help create a feud, which is something WWE can’t seem to ever do with this title. Hopefully, they make the effort to at least try something new with this match.

John Huxall: Cesaro
The King of Swing is going to finally get a bit of his long awaited push against Sheamus tonight. He'll hopefully hit that Neutraliser for the 1,2,3.

FTW Podcast: Cesaro

IC: Dolph Ziggler (5) vs. Miz (0)

Stephen Wilds: Dolph
I want to see Dolph retain.

Richard James Hughes: Dolph
Ziggler goes away with the belt, and goes away from the Miz. A really nothing match on a show that is very much a 1 match card... I expect a good match though.

Garvin: Dolph
I feel lost with this story, emotionally. Somehow, Damien Sandow is the star in this whole story, and I find myself almost ignorant of the fact that DOLPH ZIGGLER FINALLY GOT THAT PUSH WE WANTED! How does that even happen? Still, Dolph should keep the title and hopefully, this transitions to Dolph vs. Sandow. That would be epic.

John Huxall: Dolph
This has been a great feud. I can't see Miz winning just yet, and Dolph has new merch out. Go Ziggy

FTW Podcast: Dolph

WHC: Brock Lesnar (3) vs John Cena (1)

Stephen Wilds: Brock Lesnar
It would be stupid to give the belt back to Cena, unless they are going to let Seth cash in for the title, but I do not see that happening. I mean, it would be cool, but no.

Richard James Hughes: Cena
If Cena wins, it makes Lesnars demolition from last time useless, but this it the WWE and its tikme for Cena to get his win back... and with Cena Vs. Rollins coming up on the house shows its looking more likely Cena wins here and he cashes in.

Garvin: Brock
I am really starting to like Brock Lesnar as Champion. I definitely had my doubts, but seeing as he really hasn’t been on TV much, it’s made the title feel a bit more special. Because of that - let’s keep it off of Cena, as well as Seth Rollins. For just a little bit longer.

John Huxall: Brock
I want the beast to continue his reign. I see a 10% chance that Cena could win and become 16 tine champ, but I hope not.

FTW Podcast: Brock
