WNS Column: The Summerslam Wishlist

What I'd Like To See At SummerSlam!

Hello wrestling fans!
With only a couple of weeks until the biggest party of the summer, I'm going to take a look at the SummerSlam card and pick out some things that I would love to see happen.
I'll also throw in a few fantasy ideas which are probably unlikely but still stuff I would love to see happen! If you have any matches or moments you would like to see, leave them in the comments box below!

1. Brock Lesnar to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion
Aside from the fact that he ended the Undertakers undefeated streak at WrestleMania (if you didn't know for some reason) I think it would be really dumb of WWE to slow down the momentum of The Beast Incarnate from his match from Mania. I also think John Cena has had enough time as champion as he hasn't done anything with it. It pains me to say that if he does win it again though, he will be tied with Nature Boy Ric Flair at 16 times. I think they should hold off of Seth cashing in on Brock just yet to let Paul Heyman brag about Brock a few weeks.

2. Dolph Ziggler to get a respectable win over The Miz
This is a feud that could be amazing, if planned correctly. Miz has come back with a good gimmick with his 'Moneymaker' and he can go on to become a good heel. Rubbing it in our faces time after time will get the crowd against him. In comes Ziggler, loved by the crowd and the underdog who we all are desperate for a run with the IC. I have a feeling this will be one of the matches of the whole card at SummerSlam.

3. A member of the McMahon Family coming back
This is one of the 'fantasy' ideas, the best time would be obviously during the Steph/Brie match. Imagine the roof being blown off if we hear 'No chance..that what ya got..'!? Be it by ringside or even to congratulate Steph when she inevitably wins. I'd much rather hear HERE COMES THE MONEY! blasting out of the speakers personally, but that's just me.

4. Sting finally debuts on WWE television
Yeah it's one that we are all waiting for, now we have seen his promo video when is The Icon going to grace our screens, and hopefully get involved in a feud that can lead not only into Royal Rumble but also WrestleMania 31? If there is any chance that he can drop from the rafters during the Orton v Reigns match and take out Orton with his baseball bat, that itself would be worth the price of the PPV alone! I think he would definitely get off to a good start going against The Authority.

5. Jack Swagger to finally stomp out Russia
This feud has become so interesting thanks to both managers, Zeb and Lana. Their interaction has had me glued to my set as much as the physical side of this feud. I'm a little disappointed that it isn't a bit more than a flag match but I'm still hoping for a solid match, and come the finish, to be raising my hand over my heart, and (if you can join in with me) shouting in a loud clear voice - "WE THE PEOPLE."

6. Wyatt-2-J
This is the match I am most looking forward to. Bray Wyatt is still battling his way up the roster and who better to take him further than the chosen one himself, The Man Of 1,004 Holds, Chris Jericho. They had a good match at Battleground with Jericho going 1-0 up so you would have though that Bray is going to even the score out here. No Rowan at ringside though which will keep the focus in the ring.

7. AJ losing the Divas title to Paige
Another good match for the card, I think these two can have a great feud going forward this year while Paige has taken time out to focus on her mic skills. AJ always has a solid match and I'd love to see a bit of back and forth with this title keeping it fresh and airing a bit of uncertainty towards the match results. It's about time the WWE paid a bit more attention to its Diva's division as they have some good up and comers through NXT also.

Well I am really looking forward to watching SummerSlam now - there may even be a small possibility of bringing in a few old faces for the nostalgia given it is WWE's second biggest PPV of the year and Hulk Hogan's birthday celebration on Raw next week so the old talent will have been contacted to party on down with The Hulkster. Is there any specific things you are wishing for? Leave a comment below if so!

Thanks for reading and enjoy SummerSlam!
