As I reported on my personal facebook page last night WWE may make the decision to drop the current Lana/Rusev storyline with regards to the political controversies surrounding Russian President Vladimir Putin at present. While the gimmick is doing very well in getting both over as heels WWE will be keen to react quickly on this one to avoid negative press. 

Those watching WWE back in 2005 will remember when the Muhammad Hassan character came to an abrupt end when a controversial "terrorism" storyline coincided with the 7 July 2005 London bombings, leading the television network UPN to pressure WWE to remove the character from television.
