As was previously reported, WWE officials made the decision to have John Cena win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank pretty much as soon as Daniel Bryan was stripped of the Title because of his injury.

Regarding Bray Wyatt being involved in the Ladder Match, it's being reported that despite his popularity with the fans, Wyatt was never even considered as a possible candidate to win the vacant Championship.
