It's now being reported that former WCW, NWA, and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting may not be as close to signing with WWE as fans might have hoped. At one point there was a feeling that Sting signing with WWE was pretty much a done deal and there were even some reports/rumors that Sting had actually signed. However, the latest update is that the talks have died down.

Sting is still scheduled to work with WWE for the Network and some DVD projects, but he is still not officially under contract with WWE.

It should be noted though that there has not been any discussion about him possibly re-signing with TNA Impact Wrestling, although one could assume that that's always a possibility based on how many times he re-signed with TNA over the years.
