A new report has come out that reveals how close Jeff Jarrett and Toby Keith were to purchasing TNA Impact Wrestling from the Carter Family. It's being reported that it was almost a done deal and that the two sides were almost able to agree to a price. However, the deal-breaker came when Bob Carter insisted that his daughter Dixie remain as the President or a high-ranking official in the company and be kept on as a television character. Jarrett and Keith, or at least just Keith, reportedly told Bob Carter that he wasn't willing to do the deal under those conditions or any other conditions that restricted their creative freedom.

Regarding the rumored new project between Jarrett and Keith, one source says that it is far from ready and that they are basically in the first step of a 10-step process. This source apparently speculated that the project won't get off the ground until sometime late in 2014, if even that.
