The reason why former World Heavyweight Champion Christian has been out of action is because of a concussion that he suffered a few months ago and he apparently has not yet fully recovered. He is expected to be cleared to return some time within the next few weeks.

Paul Heyman probably won't be seen on WWE television again until Brock Lesnar returns. Plans could always change, but as of right now Heyman is expected to be kept off of TV until he comes back with Lesnar.
