WWE Raw Results (9/30/13) Biloxi, Mississippi

Welcome to Monday Night Raw. This week Raw comes to us live from Biloxi, Mississippi and this is the go home show only 6 days before WWE Battleground and we kick things off with CM Punk making his way out to the ring. CM Punk comes out and says people say this show thrives on unpredictability and he is as unpredictable as they come and it was predictable he’d get beat up in his hometown last week and it was also predictable Paul Heyman would come out and brag about the night before. It was also predictable Punk would go after Heyman and he’d get jumped by Axel and Ryback and he’s okay with predictability because it ends with Punk putting Curtis Axel to sleep and when he shows Ryback what happens to bullies. And this story ends when he gets his hands on Paul Heyman. That could be next Sunday at Battleground or next week on Raw. Or this story could end right here. Punk says he’s been in a fighting mood for months and he’s not leaving the ring until he gets a fight and he doesn’t care if it’s Axel or Ryback. The history books might say that Heyman pinned Punk but this story ends when he puts an end to Heyman. Brad Maddox comes out and says he understands Punk was embarrassed last week and is trying to make the WWE Universe forget it. He wants a showdown with Ryback and Heyman but Maddox says that’s not what’s best for business. Maddox says Punk gets Ryback at Battleground. Maddox says he’s the General Manager and has the power to make the match. Punk says he wants an outlet to take out his aggression on. Big E. Langston comes out and says if Punk wants aggression, Langston’s his man and a brawl ensues as Maddox looks on. Maddox calls for a referee to come out to the ring.

He has spent the majority of his life trying to understand why horrible things happen to him and he wakes up wondering this nightmare will ever end but it never did and finally he understands what he must do. One by one, they will all fall down.

Backstage: The Bellas are talking about Brie being the #1 Contender this Sunday at Battleground. Randy Orton walks in and says he heard about Brie and Daniel Bryan getting married and tells her to schedule the wedding as soon as possible because after Battleground Daniel Bryan may not make down the aisle because he won’t be able to walk

Backstage: Renee Paquette is with Paul Heyman and asks for his reaction to CM Punk’s words earlier. Heyman says CM Punk is a nobody who became a Paul Heyman guy, a Paul Heyman guy who became WWE Champion. A WWE Champion who made US the best in the world. Heyman says his mere existence is a trap for CM Punk. Heyman says he has a huge night planned front and centre here on Raw and if Punk wants to do something about it then let him find the manhood to make a move and try.

Los Matadores vs Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon come out and asks the Rhodes Family to come out and guarantees their safety just like any other WWE superstar. The Rhodes Family comes out. Stephanie welcomes the Rhodes Family to Raw and says everyone must be happy to have them here. She says she hasn’t seen Cody since the wedding and Dusty must have given him the certificiate to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Triple H asks why the angry looks and all the hostility. They given them so many opportunities they lost count. It all started with Cody. They gave him the opportunity to face Randy Orton and he lost and was fired. Goldust steps up and does what Goldust always does and that’s lose. Then it comes to Dusty and he makes it all about Dusty and. Stephanie gave Dusty the opportunity to get his son’s job back and he told Stephanie to go to hell so we’re onto opportunity #4. Stephanie says Dusty is the trainer and he holds the fate of his sons in his hands and how ironic that Stephanie holds his fate in her hands. She offers Cody and Goldust their jobs back IF they can beat the tag team champions at Battleground. BUT if they lose, they will never work in WWE again and not only that, their father Dusty Rhodes will also join them on the unemployment line. Dusty says Triple H is big on getting in people’s faces. Triple H tells Dusty not to cross the line old man. Dusty says he’s in his sons’ coner always and he’ll be Triple H’s huckleberry all night long. Stephanie says it seems that Dusty is itching for a fight and better watch what he wishes for because he just might get it. The Shield attack from behind and Roman Reigns spears Goldust. The Shield then triple team Dusty Rhodes. Cody tries to protect his father but The Shield turn their attention to him and leave Cody laid out.

Ryback walks in and says no one is going to fall into a trap by CM Punk. If he wants them, then Ryback’s going to call him out. Heyman tells Ryback to go get something to eat. Heyman says since the night Ryback saved his life he’s seen things in a whole new light and he’s going to do something he should have done the night Ryback saved his life. He’s going to go out to the ring and propose to Ryback.

Backstage: Renee Paquette is with Big Show and says he’s been put in several deplorable situations in recent weeks and this past Friday it looked like Show was ready to explode. Show says his financial situation is being held over his head like a dangling sword. People keep telling him to be a man and do the right thing. That’s easy to say when it’s not their neck on the line. He’s being forced to choose the lesser of two evils but if it were up to him he wouldn’t choose evil at all. He’s being forced to do these sick things. He knocked out a hall of famer he idolized growing up and now he can’t even look Dusty Rhodes in the eye. Every sick thing they’ve asked him to do he’s done without question and he’s not going to take it anymore. He’s going to find Triple H and show him exactly how he feels. He’s going to go find Triple H and knock him the hell out

Backstage: R-Truth is asking Brad Maddox for an intercontinental title and Maddox says he’ll take it under advisement. Big Show storms in and demands Brad Maddox goes to find Triple H because he’s staying in Maddox’ office until he sees Triple H.

Paul Heyman comes out and says not only was he man enough to pin CM Punk 1, 2, 3 but he’s also a renowned expert in political science and says since he owns CM Punk it was up to him to go against his own theory and squash CM Punk’s rebellion.  He then turns the WWE Universe’s attention to the Titantron showing footage from last week’s Raw. Heyman says Punk is a man of commitment but his commitment is to break Heyman’s face. But the only reason his face is smiling at all of the fans is because of the independent actions of one man who stood up to CM Punk and that big, beautiful man is Ryback. Ryback says he hates bullies and says for Punk to take all the knowledge, and friendship and throw it back in Heyman’s face. He couldn’t let that stand. Ryback calls Heyman a genius and says there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for Heyman. Heyman says he’s glad to hear Ryback say that. 2013 is a year of progressive movement and it’s time for people to come out in the open and express how they feel. He says he wants something more meaningful for them. Ever since Ryback saved his life, he walks with a spring in his step and feels more like a man and more virile and wants to feel like that for the rest of his life. Heyman wants to let Ryback know he wants this to become a commitment. He wants to make an honest man out of Ryback. Heyman then gets down on one knee and asks Ryback to become a Paul Heyman guy. CM Punk’s music then hits and Ryback turns around towards the entrance. Heyman runs out through the crowd and jumps over the barricade but crumbles to the floor holding his knee. Punk hobbles to the ring and tries to climb onto the apron but falls back to the floor. Heyman leans over the ropes and Punk nails Heyman and Ryback with kendo shots. Axel runs in and he’s on the receiving end of kendo shots courtesy of CM Punk. Punk picks Axel up and delivers a GTS

Shield vs The Usos & Dolph Ziggler

On commentary, Cole noted The Usos are #1 contenders to the Tag Titles, but Shield has a date with the Rhodes Brothers at Battleground on Sunday. Leading into a mid-match commercial, The Usos went flying over the top rope for stereo splashes on Shield. Babyface trio in control heading to break.

Back on Raw, Shield amazingly took control of the match on the Usos during the break. Reigns entered the ring and pointed to Ziggler, taunted the "Show-Off," and did Ziggler's trademark standing elbow drop. Nice deal to break up the monotony of the babyface isolation sequence. Reigns was then dumped over the top rope, allowing Uso to reach the face corner to tag in Ziggler. Ziggler and Ambrose were the legal men here. Ziggler delivered corner punches to Ambrose followed by a neckbreaker. Ziggler, fired up, delivered three elbow drops, then turned around and dropkicked Seth Rollins. Next was a Fameasser for Ambrose, but Reigns broke up a pin. Chaos. Bodies everywhere. Ambrose found himself on the outside as the announcers noted Reigns made a tag during the chaos. Ziggler dropped Rollins with a Zig-Zag, but he popped up to his feet and was destroyed by a Reigns spear. Reigns pinned Ziggler for the win.

The winners of the match: The Shield

Backstage: Security comes in to arrest Big Show but Stephanie comes in and says she can vouch for Big Show and he knows not what he does. All he’s trying to do is put food on the table for his family. Stephanie then says she talked to Show’s wife earlier and at home he’s not measuring up to her standards either. Show stands up and punches a hole through a picture of the Triple H DVD cover

Backstage: RVD says he could talk and talk about his match at Battleground but would rather show how RVD excels at hardcore rules. We then take a look at a Youtube video of Extreme RVD. RVD calls Del Rio vicious and sadistic but has no clue what hardcore is. You do everything and anything to survive and throw the rulebook out. This Sunday it’s for the World Heavyweight Championship and translation for hardcore is RVD

Santino Marella vs Antonio Cesaro

Side headlock by Marella. Uppercut by Cesaro. Cesaro with an irish whip and another uppercut to Marella. Slam by Cesaro and the double stomp. Chinlock on Marella.  Marella counters the swinging pendulum. Marella goes for the Cobra but Cesaro manages to get Marella in the pendulum. Marella rolls Cesaro up for the three count

The winner of the match: Santino Marella

Lawler was standing by in the ring to offer congratulations to Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella. WWE showed photos of Bryan and Brie getting engaged, further setting up for something to happen with this. Lawler said the full story will be on "Total Divas" this November, then Lawler brought out Daniel Bryan. After Bryan entered the ring, Lawler introduced Randy Orton to shrieks from the females in the crowd. Orton very slowly made his way down to the ring as Raw hit the top of the hour. Lawler stood in between Orton and Bryan, noting this is supposed to be a verbal confrontation only, saving the physicality for Sunday. Lawler recapped Triple H stripping Bryan of the WWE Title a few weeks ago, prompting Orton to speak first. Orton said he was initially upset that Hunter did not give him the title back, but it motivated him to reach his potential, no longer a "watered-down Viper" who cared what the "idiots" think. Orton said he's a new Viper. He said he will beat Bryan for the WWE Title on Sunday because he is genetically superior to a "small, pathetic, weak, B-Plus, goat-faced troll" like Bryan. Lawler spoke that those are some strong comments, then asked Bryan for his response. Bryan said Orton talks a great game. A little monotonous and the product of practicing in front of a mirror a few times, Bryan said, "evaluating" Orton's promo. Bryan accused Orton of not being able to reach his full potential without the marketing push behind him. Bryan said he might be all the things Orton said, but he has never needed motivation to reach his full potential. Some of the crowd shouted, "Yes!" before Bryan vowed to achieve even more when he regains the WWE Title on Sunday. Orton shouted, "No!" over "Yes!" chants before adding "Shut Up!" Orton said just because the crowd chants "Yes!," he thinks he can be champion? Orton said Bryan must think he's on a roll because he's marrying a Bella. Orton asked what's wrong with her to settle for Bryan. He said Brie will wake up one day and realize she's not sleeping with a man like him, but with a barnyard animal. That was enough for Bryan, who blasted Orton in the mouth before taking him to the outside and landing Yes! kicks. But, Orton reversed a whip into the ring steps and took out Bryan. The fight continued ringside, including Orton posting Bryan. Orton sent Bryan shoulder-first into the ringpost, then again. Orton waved off the cameraman, then draped Bryan across the guardrail. Sign Guy tried to encourage Bryan before Orton took Bryan back into the ring. He wanted a DDT, but Brie Bella jogged down to ringside. Brie begged with Orton not to do it, but Orton dropped Bryan face-first on the floor. Brie covered her mouth in horror before Orton walked away. Or not. Orton returned to the scene, sending Brie scurrying away. Orton then examined the announce table before tearing it apart. Orton taunted Brie from a distance before placing Bryan on the announce table. Some smaller voices pleaded with Daniel to fight back before Orton lifted Bryan on the table. Orton delivered an RKO through the table as little voices freaked out near the audio. Orton then stood over Bryan as Brie shouted, "Stop!" from a safe distance. Refs came over to check on Bryan as Orton slowly walked away. Brie checked on Bryan and Raw signed off 10 minutes past the top of the hour with Orton stretching his ankle to ensure it was okay.

-End Show-
