Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown and this week we are in Rockford, Illinois at the BMO Harris Bank Centre and we kick things off with Randy Orton making his way out to the ring for the opening match.

Randy Orton vs RVD

Side headlock by RVD and Orton counters into a drop toehold. Orton with the side headlock and shoulderblock. Dropkick by RVD. Side headlock takedown by Orton. Orton with a dropkick to RVD. Heel kick by RVD. RVD sent to the outside by Orton. RVD slams Orton’s head into the ring steps. Orton draped over the barricade and RVD from the apron with a legdrop across Orton’s spine.

Series of kneedrops by Orton to RVD. Orton in the corner, lays into RVD with the 10 punch. Orton runs into an elbow. RVD to the top rope and Orton pushes him off sending RVD crashing into the barricade. RVD dropped spine first across the barricade. Chinlock on RVD. RVD with a series of clotheslines. Powerslam to Orton and the split leg moonsault from the second rope. RVD to the top rope with a somersault catching Orton in the face. Orton side steps RVD and attacks the spine, delivering a backbreaker to RVD. Orton hits a series of clotheslines to RVD. Powerslam by Orton. RVD counters the DDT into a bridging pin. Orton with a dropkick to RVD. RVD on the apron as Orton drags him through the middle ropes and hits the DDT. Orton goes for the RKO but RVD counters into a pin. Another spinning back kick by RVD. RVD with the Rolling Thunder. RVD goes airbourne but misses with the Five Star Frog Splash and Orton nails the RKO for the three count

MizTV

Miz welcomes everyone to MizTV  and introduces AJ and Big E. Langston. We take a look at clips from Monday night and Miz says one common denominator in those clips is AJ and asks what the relationship between her and Langston is. AJ says Big E. is there for her. He’s her best friend and is always there for her. Miz says AJ’s had a lot of “friends” in WWE. Many of whom’s lives she’s tried to destroy and runs down a list of name such as John Cena, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Kane and most recently Dolph Ziggler. AJ comes up with an excuse for each one and says Miz doesn’t get how many times she’s had her heart broken. Miz then asks if she’s ever thought that the problem might be her. AJ says they deserved that. They’re not good guys or heroes. They tricked her into falling in love with them then left her. And she should have had her best friend Kaitlyn to turn to but she left AJ too. But one thing that will never leave her and stay by her side and keep her warm at night is the Diva’s Title. The Diva’s Title will never leave her the way Dolph Ziggler did and calls him a bleach blond, disrespectful, cold hearted small little man. Ziggler comes out and says it’s been the same story his whole life. Women just can’t get over him. AJ says he’s out here because he can’t get over her and they had something special and calls him sad saying he’ll never be able to touch her again. Kaitlyn comes out and says AJ cost Kaitlyn and Ziggler they’re titles and asks what else they want and why she’s so obsessed with them and Ziggler tells Langston he’s sick of him and never wants to see him again. Miz interjects and says since this is his show and he’s the host of Summerslam he feels like he can do anything like create a match for Summerslam. So at Summerslam, it’s going to be AJ Lee & Big E. Langston vs Kaitlyn & Dolph Ziggler. A brawl breaks out between all four. Ziggler takes out Langston with the ZigZag sending him to the floor and Kaitlyn spears AJ.

Backstage: Alberto Del Rio wants to know why Vickie put him in a match against Christian tonight when he has him at Summerslam. Vickie says she gave him the opportunity to choose his opponent for Summerslam and he disrespected her by choosing Ricardo Rodriguez. Del Rio says he she saw what happened to Rodriguez on Monday. Vickie says what Del Rio did to Rodriguez on Monday and Christian last week was despicable and that’s why she made the match for tonight. Del Rio says if he gets hurt tonight he might not be able to compete at Summerslam and Vickie says that’s a risk she’s willing to take

Fandango vs Kofi Kingston

Side headlock by Fandango and shoulderblock to Kingston. Shoulder tackle by Kingston and clothesline in the corner. Fandango sends Kingston over the ropes to the floor. Suplex on the outside by Fandango. Chinlock on Kingston. Back suplex by Fandango blocked by Kingston. Fandango hits the back suplex but Kingston floats over into a cover. Fandango hits the ring post shoulder first. Series of clotheslines and a dropkick by Kingston. Kingston looks for the Boom Drop but Fandango slides out of the ring. Dropkickby Kingston to the outside. Kingston to the top rope but Summer Rae stands in front of Fandango. Kingston climbs down and runs off the apron hitting a clothesline to Fandango. Fandango bounces Kingston’s skull off the ring post. Kingston rolled back into the ring, Fandango on the top rope hits the leg drop for the three count

Backstage: Bryan says as far as Monday’s makeover goes he likes the way he looks and when they asked him to cut the beard that was the breaking point so he thought he’d give Wade Barrett a makeover of his own. Despite what John Cena said he has never changed who he is to get to the WWE. But one thing he will change is history when he beats John Cena for the WWE Championship at Summerslam.

Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett

Barrett unloads on Bryan.  Clothesline to Barrett. Bryan hits a series of kicks to Barrett. Barrett clotheslines Bryan over the ropes to the floor. Bryan driven spine first into the barricade. Bryan whipped shoulder first into the steel steps. Barrett throws Bryan back into the ring. Big Boot by Barrett to Bryan. Knee in the back by Barrett as he locks Bryan in a surfboard submission. Bryan gets to his feet. Drop toehold as Barrett hits the turnbuckle face first. Winds Of Change by Barrett. Barrett goes to the outside and grabs the clippers looking to shave Bryan’s beard but Bryan blocks him and kicks him away. Running knee to the face by Bryan. Barrett thrown back into the ring. Bryan to the top rope hits the flying headbutt.  Bryan gets the Yes Lock on Barrett for the submission.

Backstage: Damien Sandow says from the footage that was just shown from 2 weeks ago when Cody Rhodes threw his MITB briefcase into the river we learned that 1) Cody Rhodes is a thief 2) He destroyed Sandow’s MITB briefcase and 3) They settle their differences at Summerslam. But being the intellectual saviour of the masses he’s always one step ahead of his competition he has a solution to the briefcase dilemma and introduces a brand new Sandow-ized MITB briefcase and says this serves as a symbol and warning to Alberto Del Rio that inside there is a brand new, pristine and legally binding contract. A contract that Del Rio will see in the future at a time of Sandow’s choosing. And at that time, he will become World Champion of the Unwashed Masses.

Kane vs 3MB

Kane unloads on all three members of 3MB. Clothesline in the corner to Slater. McIntyre with a dropkick to Kane. 3MB with a triple team on Kane.  Slater runs into a big boot and Kane clears the ring. Right hand to McIntyre, Mahal’s head bounced off the announce table. Slater driven back first into the apron and McIntyre whipped into the ring steps. Slater thrown into the barricade. Kane hits the chokeslam on Mahal for the three count.

Post Match: The lights go out and The Wyatt Family appear on the TitanTron and Bray Wyatt says a “Ring Of Fire” match sounds like the type of fight that’s meant to cater to a man who fancies himself “The Devil’s Favourite Demon. Wyatt says he likes Kane’s style but feels like there’s been some type of interruption. They seem to be a little disconnected and Kane hasn’t quite grasped his mind around the concept of what is really going on. Wyatt says a simple fire cannot control the souls of his brothers. They are everywhere and soon the fire that Kane calls his own will raise up around him and the tables will be turned. And then it will be Kane who is locked inside with a monster and says Kane’s fire fears him because it’s smart enough to understand that it itself can never hurt me. Wyatt then tells Kane a secret. He’s already dead and Kane sets off the pyros

We go to an interview with Brock Lesnar and Lesnar says a lot of people see this match between him and Punk as a personal issue between CM Punk & Paul Heyman with Lesnar being there as Heyman’s muscle. But Lesnar says it is personal between himself and Punk. He’s never liked Punk. He walks around calling himself the Best In The World. Lesnar says he looks at Punk asa joke and the only reason he’s let Punk exist for as long as he has is out of respect for Paul Heyman. The Corporate Idiots are calling the match at Summerslam The Best vs The Beast but when u look at Lesnar The Best IS The Beast. Punk thinks just because he tapes up his hands and has a bunch of tattoos and takes MMA classes that he’s a tough guy but he’s not, Lesnar says there’s no professional jealousy between himself and Punk. Punk was never an NCAA Champion or a UFC Champion and says he was WWE Champion back when Punk wrestling in high school gyms. He says holding the title for 434 consecutive days is impressive but CM Punk has never faced anyone like Lesnar because there is nobody like Lesnar and size does matter. And at Summerslam, CM Punk is going to truly learn what it means to be victimized by Brock Lesnar.

Alberto Del Rio vs Christian

Side headlock by Del Rio and shoulderblock to Christian.  Series of shoulderblocks by Christian, side headlock takedown to Del Rio. Del Rio with shoulder tackles in the corner. Snapmare by Del Rio. Christian with a drop toehold. Christian throws Del Rio over the ropes to the floor. Baseball slide to Del Rio as Del Rio bounces off the announce table.

Christian unloads on Del Rio. 10 Punch in the corner, Del Rio counters a tornado DDT. Double stomp across Christian’s spine. Del Rio pulls Chrisitan’s legs into the ringpost. Christian kicks him away. Christian to the top rope misses and hits the barricades. Chinlock on Christian. Christian off the ropes and Del Rio elevates him letting him fall face first to the mat. Kick by Del Rio. Tree Of Woe by Del Rio as he stomps away at Christian. Slap by Christian. Christian going to the top rope and Del Rio cuts him off.  Del Rio and Christian fighting on the top rope, and both are sent crashing to the floor.

Del Rio with a missile dropkick to Christian. Del Rio softening up Christian’s arm setting up for the cross armbreaker. Del Rio on the top rope gets cut off by Christian. Christian with a hurricanrana from the top rope. Del Rio runs into a boot and Christian hits the missile dropkick. Crossbody onto Del Rio. Del Rio counters the Killswitch and hits the tilt o whirl backbreaker. Christian with the sunset flip from the top rope. Another Killswitch countered by Del Rio and Del Rio hits the backstabber. Del Rio misses with the kick and Christian spears him. Del Rio whips Christian into the ringpost. Christian counters the cross armbreaker. Del Rio catches Christian with the kick to the head. Christian out of nowhere with a cradle roll up for the three count

The winner of the match: Christian

Post Match: Del Rio slides back into the ring to attack Christian but Christian counters and lays Del Rio out with the Killswitch. Damien Sandow runs down to the ring with referee Mike Chioda and it seems as if he’s going to cash in his MITB briefcase but Cody Rhodes hits a moonsault from the top rope and lays Sandow out with the Cross Rhodes.
