WWE SmackDown Results (5/24/13) Omaha, Nebraska

Posted By: Elio Cannella reporting for WrestlingNewsSource.com on May 24, 2013

Friday Night Smackdown this week comes to us from Omaha, Nebraska and we kick things off with MizTV . Miz’s guest tonight is Fandango and he says he has never witnessed anything like what he witnessed this past Monday night on Raw during the tag team match between Miz and Jericho vs Fandango and Wade Barrett. Miz then rolls the footage from Raw of Fandango leaving Barrett during the tag team match to dance at ringside. Miz says he can’t believe that while Barrett was getting his butt kicked in the ring, Fandango was outside the ring dancing with Summer Rae and says Fandango’s ego is more obnoxious than his name and asks Fandango what kind of self absorbed narcissist he is. Fandango says if anyone gets close to Summer Rae again he will dance all over their face. Miz says he knows all about ego but also knows the balance between sports and entertainment and he knows when the bell rings it’s all about business he doesn’t stand outside and dance and calls Fandango a bag of skittles. The crowd starts chanting ‘bag of skittles”. Fandango tells Miz he bores him. Wade Barrett then comes out and says he wants a word with Fandango and says he’s never encountered a more disrespectful, pathetic, waste of skin in his entire life and  says the only reason they lost on Monday is because Fandango would rather dance than fight like a real man and if Fandango ever crosses his path again he’ll knock every tooth out and make sure that the whole world forgets about the name Fandango. Miz then reminds Barrett he’s going to be defending the Intercontinental Championship against Miz tonight, he beat Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania and last Monday he tapped Barrett out. Barrett than nails Miz with a right hand and a brawl ensues.

We get the WWE Rewind showing still photos from the Last Man Standing Match from this past Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV.

We take a look at this past Monday’s opening segment with Ryback issuing a challenge to John Cena to an ambulance match at the Payback PPV.

Damien Sandow is in the ring and says for the last several weeks he’s sat idly by and watched two WWE Superstars engage in a series of contests each more half witted and embarrassing as the last. The only thing worst than these contests is that the WWE Universe seems to be amused by it and calls this appealing to the lowest common denominator. He doubts there are any mathletes in attendance but the true measure of a man is not in his feats of strength but in his ability to deal with mental challenges and tells a tale of the Gordian Knot. Sandow then challenges Matt Striker to untie the Gordian Knot. Sandow then calls Striker an idiot and says he found the problem in the education system. Sheamus then comes out and makes a crack about Sandow playing with knots and says he needs to get a social life. Sheamus then volunteers to try and solve the Gordian Knot. Sandow accepts Sheamus challenges and stands by and watches. Sandow pulls out bolt cutters and cuts the knot as Sheamus applauds.
