WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair made the following comments to The Charlotte Observer regarding his son Reid Flair's death; "I can honestly say I blamed myself the first couple days, but after talking with people I think he's in a better place and he's at peace. Because this had gone on a long time - and something happened that we didn't have control over. But he's a wonderful guy. I was so proud of him."

The article also notes that Reid's mother Beth said that Reid feared returning home to the U.S following a wrestling tour in Japan due to past demons.
