KYDA Pro Show Report
Here is a show report from the latest KYDA Pro Show from Manassas, VA.
The evening began with Snatch Haggis coming to the ring to challenge any or all members of Total Quality Management to face him. Last week we learned that TQM leader Jimmy Cicero was to be turning over control of the organization to his son Michael Cicero while he was out of town fulfilling other business for TQM. This change of management also included an alliance with Lance McIntyre's McIntyre Inc. and a change in uniform for TQM members Jane and Joseph Brooks. Snatch Haggis was apparently not let in on the changes and was unceremoniously beaten down by members of TQM and McIntyre Inc. last week. This week he intended to get revenge. Unfortunately his challenge wasn't answered by any TQM members and instead Tank Thomas came out to face him. Snatch was able to come out with a win over Tank, possibly showing that he's better off without TQM's influence.
As for TQM, the rest of the night didn't go so well for them. Though Jane was able to get a win over Hyjinx later in the night, Joseph Brooks could not defeat what seems to be a new crowd favorite in Zac Conner. Lance McIntyre spent the entirety of both matches hovering above the ring on the entrance ramp, acting as overseer in his new executive role with Total Quality Management. The big event for TQM came towards the end of the night when TQM leader Jimmy Cicero took on KYDA Pro veteran Chucky Wynn. Wynn is known as having opposed TQM from the very beginning. He has suffered terrible atrocities at the hands of TQM loyalists including being bound and beaten and having his best friend Miami kidnapped and turned against him. This was his chance to get revenge on the very top member of the much hated organization. Even though TQM loyalists Jane and Joseph Brooks were at ringside to assist their master, Chucky Wynn took them all on and came away with a much deserved win over Cicero. It remains to be seen how this defeat will shake up the ranks of Total Quality Management.
The past several weeks have seen KYDA Pro Heavyweight Champion Christian York weasel his way into keeping hold of the championship title. First, after being squarely defeated by Prince Malik, it was announced that the match was not sanctioned as a title match and York retained the championship. Then, last week, after being pinned by Bazooka Joe, the ruling was overturned after it was discovered that York's foot was under the ropes when the count was made. The match was restarted, Joe took a dive over the top ropes and got disqualified using a rule put in place by the former KYDA Pro Commissioner. New KYDA Pro Commissioner Richard Finland announced to a disappointed crowd last week that he would fully investigate the matter and get to the bottom of the situation. This week, Commissioner Finland proclaimed that Christian York would face off against the three men he has most dishonored in a four way elimination match. The main event would see Christian York take on Prince Malik, "The Rampage" John Kermon, and Bazooka Joe in a sanctioned match for the KYDA Pro Heavyweight Championship. York, not wanting to be held to anyones rules but his own, came to the ring with his manager Marcus Dowling to insult Finland and announce that he was changing the rules so that it would be a single pinfall match instead of elimination. Commissioner Finland looked surprised and said that if York thought he was man enough to take on KYDA Pro's most hardcore in a single pinfall then he wouldn't be the one to stop him. Finland extended his hand to seal the deal and York disgustingly spat at the Commissioner before leaving the ring.
The main event began with York stalling and manager Marcus Dowling wanting the mic to lecture the crowd on York's prowess. Commissioner Finland and York's opponents tried to get the match started, but it was clear that York wasn't about to submit to any kind of authority. When York felt it was the appropriate time to start the match, he leapt to the outside of the ring so that Kermon, Malik, and Joe could wear themselves out fighting each other. All three men tried at various times to tag York into the match, but York found ways of keeping himself out of the action. It couldn't last forever though and as York and Dowling exchanged words with the crowd, Joe, Malik, and Kermon all tagged him and then set to beating him mercilessly. In the end, it all came down to Joe, Malik, and Kermon all grabbing submission holds on York and York quickly tapping out. The official announced that all three men, Joe, Malik, and Kermon had won the match. Commissioner Finland entered the ring as the three men fought over the belt and let everyone know that only one man could hold the belt. For the time being it would be agreed that John Kermon, Prince Malik, and Bazooka Joe were all the KYDA Pro Heavyweight Champion and that the management committee would meet early this coming week to decide the fate of the belt. As of the writing of this article, the committee has not yet met, but the outcome will be posted here on https://www.KYDA.com as soon as it is known. Please keep checking back all this week for the latest news on the KYDA Pro Heavyweight Championship controversy.
