The Sports Business Daily is reporting that the upcoming WWE Network is scheduled to launch on April 1, 2012 to coinside with WrestleMania 28 which is rumored to be airing on the network for free to those who have subscribed. WWE has told cable and satellite operators that it is expecting to reach 40 million upon launch and many of the WWE pay-per-views will be absorbed by the network. WWE at one point considered airing WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble exclusively on the network but are now considering keeping those on tradition pay-per-view.
WWE is also negotiating through Comcast executives with Time Warner Cable, Cox and Bright House Networks to pick up the network. The company is also selling the fact they are considering expanding beyond wrestling and airing other professional sports.
