TNA Wrestling\'s Victory Road begins with a video package reminding us of the Anderson/Hardy story and we are reminded that more often than not, they are on the same page. Tonight they go head to head and go against The Monster Abyss and the TNA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam.
Douglas Williams (c) vs. Brian Kendrick
Ultimate X match
The match begins with both competitor\'s climbing the turnbuckles looking for the easy victory. Neither make it though and Kendrick is on top early on, but Douglas Williams slows it down and puts Kednrick in a hangman type chokehold. Both wrestler\'s fight it out with a variety of submission holds. The commentary team of Mike Tenay and Tazz remind the audience at home that Brian Kendrick recently made Douglas Williams tap out on Impact of late and tonight he\'s trying to ware down his opponent the same way, and possibly get the win as in this Ultimate X match you can gain victory via submission. After some time Williams is on top and he gets himself a pair of \"climbing gloves\". He floors Kendrick at ringside and then proceeds to climb the structure that ladders up toward the X that is stretched across the centre of the ring. Kendrick manages to get up and knock him down, but as he does Kendrick lands awkwadly. Williams then locks on a modified Cobra Clutch and Douglas Williams retains the X-Division Championship.
Winner and still X-Division Champion: Douglas Williams
After the match the commentary team run-down the night\'s main event. We then cut backstage to Christy Hemme who is with Brother Ray. Bubba insults Jesse Neal, insults Christy and tells that it\'s not in Brother Devon\'s best interest to lay a hand on him tonight. Brother Ray then frightens Christy and makes it clear that he is Team 3D, not Devon.
Jesse Neal vs. Brother Ray vs. Brother Devon
As Jesse Neal makes his entrance Brother Ray rushes down the ramp and attacks him from behind. Team 3D\'s music hits and we expect Brother Devon, but we cut to a video showing the Dudley\'s locker room and it seems that Brother Devon is locked in via a 2x4! Brother Devon can\'t get into the match and meanwhile in the ring Brother Ray is very much laying into Jesse Neal. After some time though we see four figures enter the audience in the Impact Zone, former ECW originals, Raven, Stevie Richards and Rhino led by Tommy Dreamer. Brother Ray is distracted and Jesse Neal hits a spear which leads to a near fall. After that Shannon Moore comes to the ring and the referee focusses on getting him outta there. But Brother Ray in the meantime gets a steel chair and whacks down his opponent. Moore\'s bannished from ringside and then down to the ring comes Brother Devon. He goes face to face with Brother Ray, but then they both look toward Neal. We all think they\'re gonna tear him appart, but Brother Ray goes to sucker-punch Devon, Devon though sees it coming and they slug it out for a moment. Jesse Neal gets up and attempts a spear on Brother Ray, but Ray side-steps it and Neal takes down Devon. Brother Ray then puts the Bubba-Bomb on Neal and picks up the One, Two, Three.
Winner: Brother Ray.
Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne (c)
Career vs. Knockouts Championship match
Madison goes hard at Love early and the two Knockouts tustle early on the outside. Back in the ring Angelina gets a near fall, but after a rake of the eyes Madison Rayne is on top. She bring her mean streak to Angelina and drives her opponents head into the turnbuckle. Madison gets a near fall and then puts on a scissor stomp that bounces the top of Angelina\'s head off the mat. The commentary team remind us that no member\'s of the Beautiful People are permitted at ringside. If they show up then Madison is instantly disqualified and Angelina would pick up the win and the Knockouts Championship. In the audience we see a leathered up knockout on a motorcycle. She gets off the bike (wearring a helmet - we can\'t see who she actually is) and she attacks Angelina Love. The referee goes after her and tries to see who it is. The knockout refuses to take off her helmet and takes down the referee. The ref though takes exception to this and calls for the bell and determines that it is a Beautiful Person - therefore Angelina wins and gets the Title!
Winner and new Knockouts Champion: Angelina Love!
After the match Tenay and Tazz question whether it really was a Beautiful Person or not. Angelina celebrates and Madison meanwhile gets on the bike, behind the covered knockout and they leave together.
In an interview with Christy Hemme Mr Anderson tells that it\'s not very often that an Ass Hole gets a Title shot and tonight he and his fans get to become World Heavyweight Champion Ass Holeeeees!
AJ Styles and Kazarian vs. Rob Terry and Samoa Joe!
Even before the match begins we see a friction between AJ and Kaz. Tenay and Tazz say that Ric Flair is watching everybody and wants them all to prove themselves in order to become a part of Fortune. AJ is meant to start against Terry, but tags Kaz and Kaz comes in only to be immediately taken down. Terry domianates Kaz and then tags in Samoa Joe who continues in the same fashion. After an exchange Terry and AJ are back in, but again AJ and Kaz aren\'t doing to well. They both end up at ringside and Rob Terry launches Samoa Joe against the ropes and he comes back to perform a suicide dive through the ropes and to the outside. The fans Love the action and are chanting for Samoa Joe. The match continues and goes back and forth. Surprisingly AJ and Kaz after some time are on the same page. They tag fairly often and do a good job to keep down Samoa Joe. Joe tries making a tag, but Kaz comes in and knocks Terry off the apron as the match continues. A back and forth between Joe and then *BAM* Pele! Another epic AJ/Joe exchange and AJ then gets taken down with a urinagi by Joe in the corner. Joe manages to get a tag and Rob Terry comes in to impress. He takes AJ up and down in a Gorilla Press and then puts Kaz out of it with an excellent Fall-Away Slam. Joe and Kaz then exchange and as Joe goes for a Muscle Buster we see Desmond Wolfe run down to ringside and distract Samoa Joe. Kaz does well to take Joe down on the outside. Rob Terry then has to deal with both AJ and Kaz. Impossible as the two of them perform a series of high-flying moves to take Terry down and AJ finishes it with a springboard 450 splash off the top rope. Kaz presses on AJ\'s back as he makes the cover. \'One! Two! Three!\'
Winners: AJ Styles and Kazarian.
After the match Samoa Joe gets his hands on Wolfe and takes him down with a Muscle-Buster!
Backstage Christy Hemme is introduced to Abyss\' girl by The Monster. Abyss tells that \"They\" gave him the specs for this model and know it\'s his girl that\'s going to lead him to victory here tonight.
Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez
Steel Cage match
Mike Tenay and Tazz talk over Super-Mex\'s revenge factor in this match. They remind us of what Morgan has done to his former partner and tell that Hernandez must keep focus tonight because the revenge factor could prove a distraction. Hernandez predictably begins the match on top, but Morgan does come back into it and The BluePrint pulls off a giant boot on Hernandez in the corner while Hernandez is on the top turnbuckle. Morgan then feigns to leave to get the victory and Hernandez seems hurt. The door opens and Morgan can easily step out for the victory, but instead he goes back to a bloody Super-Mex and continues the assault. He grinds and rakes Hernandez\'s face against the mesh of the steel cage. Matt Morgan is in total control. He poses and smiles a little too much though as Hernandez comes back to hit clotheslines. He\'s all fired up! The fans are on their feet and Matt Morgan tries a Carbon Footprint. Hernandez ducks and takes Morgan down. Hernandez then attempts a Border Toss. He can\'t get it first time as Morgan powers out. He tries again and he hits a powerbomb - it\'s impressive against the seven footer, but he doesn\'t seem happy with himself. Hernandez then goes toward the top of the cage! He tries to hit a splash, but Morgan rolls out of the way! The tides have turned once again as the fans chant \'TNA! TNA! TNA!\' Morgan then gets handcuffs (apparently from the t-shirt that he had in his trunks before the match) and he ties Hernandez to the ropes. Morgan then poses and smiles again arrogant as usual and he goes to the top of the cage. He laugh toward Hernandez who is helpless and goes to exit. Shockingly though Hernandez breaks the cuffs! He powers out of them, runs against the far ropes and before Morgan can get down from the top, Super-Mex flies through the ropes at full speed and also through the cage door! Hernandez wins!
Winner: Super-Mex!
Backstage we a joined with Christy Hemme and the Nature Boy, WOOO, Ric Flair. Flair is excentric as always and entertains us by telling us that he\'s going to make an example of Jay Lethal. \"You do not mess with the Nature Boy Ric Flair!\" He tells that Ric Flair is the Greatest Wrestler that ever Lived! Wooo! Wooo! Wooo! Wooo! Wooo! Wooo!
Jay Lethal vs. Ric Flair
Of course the tale of the tape tells us that Ric Flair has had 39 years in the wrestling industry. Jay Lethal though has youth and speed on his side. Flair\'s experience is unmatched, but Jay Lethal can beat the Nature Boy is he stays focussed on his own game. Jay begins the bout on top and after hitting a back body drop, Lethal clotheslines Flair to the outside. Flair bides his time, wrestles to his pace and takes a breather for a moment. Lethal though gets him back in the ring and hits two near falls on Ric Flair. Thumb to the eye though by Flair and a signauture series of knife-edge chops leave deep red marks on the chest of Jay Lethal. Lethal though turns the tides and gives a few chops of his own and after an exchange he manages to hit a top rope super-plex on the Nature Boy. Lethal then attempts a moonsault, but misses and Flair\'s on top again. Ric puts on the Figure-Four and tries to use the ropes for leverage. The referee Earl Hebnar though forces the break. Lethal rolls up Flair and gets a near fall. The match goes back and forth and then in an attempt to roll up Ric Flair, Lethal pulls the trunks of the Nature Boy and we get a shot of the full moon. Another exchange and the match comes to a close with Jay Lethal beating Ric Flair via a Figure-Four leg lock of his own.
Winner: Jay Lethal!
Flair seems mad at Hebnar who pushes Flair on his butt. Meanwhile Lethal gets on the mic and yells \"Mom, I did it!\"
Jeff Hardy is interviewed by Christy Hemme and he says that The Charismatic Enigma will leave Victory Road as the new TNA World Champion.
Beer Money vs. MotorCity Machine Guns
vacant TNA Tag Title match
Beer Money start the match out on top with constant tags back and forth. Shelley hits Roode with some punches and the Guns perform some double team moves to knock Storm off the apron and get the upper hand. After an exchange that goes back and forth and forth again, we have Storm legal against Shelley with a waist-lock and it seems that Beer Money are doing all they can to keep this at their pace. Shelley though eventually makes a tag and Sabin comes in on fire. The Guns pull off some excellent moves and after some speedy stunts, they manage to get a couple of near falls as the fans chant \'Motor-City!\' Beer Money though manage to get a little way to get back into it as Roode counters a hurricanrana to prop Sabin upon Storm in order to pull off the Eye of the Storm. Another exchange and the fans very much in the Guns\' favour as this may as well be a Tornado match. Shelley and Sabin do well to take Storm down on the outside. Roode though pulls off a slingshot cross body on Sabin, only for Shelley to then suicide dive toward ringside back through the ropes and Roode goes down. James Storm gets the beer bottle and spits it toward a Machine Gun, but the referee gets the brunt of it. Senior referee Earl Hebnar then rushes to the ring and the Guns get another near fall. Back and forth this match goes, it\'s an excellent one and the Guns\' double-team moves are truly amazing. After an exchange both teams have covers and there\'s two refs! Earl Hebnar and Brian Hebnar count three each as the latter was the original referee. After a descssion the match is restarted as both teams had pin-falls anyway. The match continues and The MotorCity Machine Guns have been waiting a long time, and tonight they double team Beer Money down again in a move where Sabin does a neckbreaker and Shelley does a cross body off the top rope and in the end the outright winner here tonight are the MotorCity Machine Guns!
Winners and New TNA Tag Team Champions: The MotorCity Machine Guns!
The Pope vs. Kurt Angle
Number 8 The Pope versus number 10 Kurt Angle in the TNA Top Ten ranking system. The early exchange is slow but Pope gets the better of it and it ends with Angle having to regroup on the outside. Dinero then sits on the middle rope and allows Angle respectfully back into the ring. The match is intriguing and Kurt Angle is on top as he keeps D\'Angelo Dinero grounded as much as he can. Dinero though turns the tides as he manages to hit a back suplex on Angle. Kurt Angle has a sense of urgency about him. He said it himself, if he loses he\'s done. The pressure is all on Kurt Angle and he gets a near fall after performing an excellent belly-to-belly on The Pope. Angle though makes a mistake and Pope hits Kurt Angle with his own German Suplex and then follows it with Kurt coming back off the ropes and hits a jujitsu-type sweep/clothesline. Pope gets a near fall and gets on top as he targets the neck of the former Olympic Gold Medalist. Kurt is fatigued, but he\'s a clutch player, at his best when he\'s under the pressure the most and Angle does well to get the upper hand, another near fall and another exchange with The Pope. Pope gets on top after Angle heads shoulder-first into the ring-post. Dinero\'s body language changes and he seems annoyed that he can\'t put Kurt away. Angle gets on top again and gets a near fall after an Angle Slam and this time Angle looks a little peeved. Back and forth the match goes and finally the straps of Angle come down as he signals for the Ankle-Lock. He gets it on but Dinero rolls him up: One! Two! - that was close, but no cigar as Kurt Angle then gets Dinero into an Ankle-Lock again. Kurt lays back on it in the middle of the ring and this one\'s over.
Winner: Kurt Angle!
Angle celebrates by signalling the number 7 as the fans cheer.
Christy Hemme backstage asks Rob Van Dam how he plans to deal with his challengers tonight. He says that he doesn\'t trust Anderson. \"Jeff\'s cool\". But Abyss and his \"girl\"? Well Van Dam says that he intends to stick that nailled-up 2x4 up inside Abyss where the sun don\'t shine.
Mr Anderson vs. Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam (c)
TNA World Heavyweight Championship match
The match begins with Van Dam, Anderson and Hardy all going after Abyss. They target him and it becomes a strategy to keep the constant attacks going on The Monster. Van Dam performs a monkey flip out of the corner on Abyss and then later Abyss is on the outside, Anderson whips Hardy toward the ropes to where Hardy steps off the back of the crouching RVD and Hardy goes flying to the outside on top of Abyss. After that Anderson rolls up Van Dam and gets a near fall. After some time Anderson and Hardy are again working together to keep Abyss down, but after that Anderson swirves to take down Hardy and gets a near fall. Van Dam then exchanges with Anderson and Hardy and Jeff ends up getting a near fall on the Champion. At ringside Abyss is trying to regroup but over the ropes comes Van Dam and then over comes Jeff Hardy as the pin-pointing of Abyss continues with Anderson coming off the top turnbuckle to chop Abyss down with an axe-handle. The match becomes frantic and RVD manages to put an excellent kick that rocks Rob Van Dam. The match goes back and forth and now Anderson has RVD up on the top rope and Hardy joins him as they are then joined by Abyss who locks under them for a powerbomb and the TNA move is completed as Van Dam, Anderson and Hardy all slam to the mat as all three men look like they\'ve just fallen from a building (to quote Tazz). Van Dam then gets momentum and we can see why he\'s the TNA World Heavyweight Champion as he puts on a series of kicks and athletic moves to attack his opponents. This doesn\'t last too long though as he\'s dumped to the outside by Mr Anderson. Jeff Hardy then does well to take Abyss down and he gets a Two count before Anderson breaks up the count. Anderson then hits the Mic-Check on Abyss! One! Two! - and this time Jeff Hardy breaks it! Another exchange and Abyss is up. Black-Hole Slam on Jeff Hardy! Emphatic move, a cover, but Mr Anderson pulls the referee out of the ring just as Abyss was about to get a Three count. Back and forth the match goes as Jeff Hardy hits a Twist Of Fate, followed by a Swanton on Mr Anderson! Abyss though comes in to chokeslam Hardy on top of Anderson! Abyss goes for a cover, but then out of nowhere comes Rob Van Dam hitting the Five St*r Frog Splash off the top rope on all of his opponents and Van Dam gets the cover! \'One! Two! Three!\' yell the fans!
Winner and still TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Rob Van Dam.
After the match Van Dam can\'t celebrate as Abyss attacks. He goes to get his \"girl\" and swings for Van Dam but the retaining Champion escapes as TNA\'s Victory Road comes to a close.
