WWE RAW Results (4/26)
3-Hour WWE Draft Special
Results by: Mark Golden of Wrestling-Radio.com

Typical opening montage kicked things off as Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and Matt Stryker introduced the show. They previewed the Draft and went to the ring for the tag title match.

ShowMiz vs. Hart Dynasty

Miz took the mic, and talked about the injustice of having to wrestle a gauntlet match at Extreme Rules last night. He said the Hart Dynasty were just handed this title shot because of their lineage, but not their qualifications. Miz called out Bret to live up to his end of the deal, and declare ShowMiz the best team. Bret Hart walked out to his entrance theme. Bret said he\'s a man of his word, and said ShowMiz is the greatest team of all time, in as much as the Mountie was the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time, and David Arquette was the greatest world heavyweight champion of all time. He went on to rip Miz and said talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words, as Hart Dynasty made their way to the ring to start the match.

Dynasty took early control and not two minutes into the match, they cut to commercial.

Back from break, Miz had the advantage over DH with a headlock. Both tagged, and Show tossed Kid around, and stomped and stepped on him. Hearing Stryker on Raw helps the broadcast considerably. ShowMiz continued the offense with frequent tags, and cutting the ring off. Hot tag to Smith saw him clean house and go for some near falls. Bret Hart broke up a feet on the ropes pin attempt, and Kid cannonballed into Big Show on the outside. A Hart Attack and Sharpshooter later on Miz, and we have new tag team champions.

Bret, Natalya, Kid and Smith celebrated center ring, as Stryker called this a travesty of justice due to Bret intervening.

Commercial Break

Highlights aired of Cena and Batista\'s Last Man Standing match from Extreme Rules. The three hosts discussed the ppv, and then showed Big Show punch the Miz really hard in the face during the commercial break. They went back to highlights of Extreme Rules where Sheamus injured Triple H despite a valiant effort. Again I say, if Triple H were the Cerebral Assassin, he would have given him a hard time.

Backstage, Jack Swagger touted his victory last night, as well as his intelligence and overall greatness, as Edge interrupted him and told him his days as champion are numbered if they both end up on the same show by the end of the draft.

Smackdown vs Raw Diva\'s Tag Team Match is up next, with a Diva draft pick hanging in the balance.

Commercial Break

Autozone Slam of the Week showed Eve pin Maryse with a leg grapevineĀ bridge from last week.

Layla and Michele McCool vs Eve and Maryse.

During this match, they talked about how, as has been in recent years, the winners of the interpromotional matches will determine the \"random draft picks\" and that a supplemental draft will occur later this week on WWE.com. McCool and Layla got the victory, and thus Smackdown got the first draft pick in the Diva\'s category.

Kelly Kelly - Drafted to Smackdown

Straight Edge Society, backstage, headed toward the ring

Commercial Break-

CM Punk vs. Evan Bourne - draft pick match

Bourne started fast with his aerial assault, but was soon grounded by Punk. Looks like Smackdown will have another draft pick, because Evan never wins a match. He\'s like Colin Delaney with skills. He should be in TNA. Punk\'s hooded friend from last night shoved Evan from the top rope, and Punk landed the GTS and scored the pin.

Smackdown gets a draft pick from the Raw superstars.

Big Show - drafted to Smackdown.

Punk looked concerned. He can\'t shave Big Show\'s head.

Commercial Break -

Teddy Long talked with Big Show backstage and was happy to have him on Smackdown. Show was non-plussed, but gave some love to Teddy nonetheless.

In the ring, Sheamus talked about destroying HHH, until Randy Orton interrupted him. He said that while he hates Triple H and they really went at it in some underhanded ways, he still went one on one face to face come belltime, and not with a lead pipe from behind. Sheamus reminded him that while he (Sheamus) won last night, he (Orton) lost. They went back and forth until John Cena interrupted, and feigned introducing tonight\'s guest host, and ripped them both. The topic of debate was regarding the number one contendership. Cena was told that since there is no host tonight, he was told he could name the top contender and said the best way to determine this was via a match between Orton and Sheamus tonight. Sheamus went for a big kick on Orton, who ducked itĀ and then Randy went for an RKO. Sheamus escaped and left the ring.

Smackdown guys headed to the ring from backstage for a 10 man over the top rope battle royal, where the winning brand will get 3 draft picks.

Commercial Break-

Shad Gaspard, Rey Mysterio, Kane, R Truth and Drew McIntyre represented Smackdown, while MVP, Mark Henry, Santino Marella, Yoshi Tatsu and Ted DiBiasi represented Raw.

McIntyre eliminated first, followed by Tatsu. This battle royal will continue until one whole side/team is eliminated.

Commercial Break-

Back from break, everyone was eliminated in rapidfire succession leaving Mysterio from Smackdown and DiBiasi and Santino from Raw. DiBiasi and Mysterio took turns trying to eliminate one another, until Ted finally sent Rey flying over the top. Santino tried sharing the glory with Ted, whoĀ nailed him with a Million Dollar Slam - Raw gets 3 picks.

John Morrison, R Truth and Edge - drafted to Raw

Commercial Break

KFC\'s AWESOME sandwich presents highlights of Jericho losing to Heath Slater last week on NXT.

Jericho entered the ring and complained about losing to Edge, demanded he be fined andĀ suspended and then called out Slater, who obliged. He half heartedly apologized to Jericho for his recent spell of bad luck, and informed him that his luck won\'t improve tonight in his match against Christian.

Jericho vs. Christian

Slater tossed Jericho to the outside at the feet of Christian, who capitalized on this advantage as they went to break.

Commercial Break -

Back from break, Jericho was in control with a rest hold. Slater stayed at ringside in support of Christian. Wade Barrett should be out with Jericho to even things up, but he is not. Pretty much what you\'d expect from these two. Back and forth action from two of the best wrestlers in the company, currently. Jericho beat Christian with the Codebreaker as a counter to a top rope attempt from Christian.

Kofi Kingston - drafted to Smackdown. Thankfully, we don\'t have to hear Michael Cole say \"controlled frenzy\" ever again.

Kofi ran out andĀ nailed Jericho with a flying kickĀ as a way of saying \"I\'m on Smackdown now!\"

Next up, one of the new members of Raw, John Morrison, will face Jack Swagger in a draft match.

Commercial Match -

Back with highlights from the night so far.

John Morrison vs. Jack Swagger

Should be a good match. Morrison is a star that will only get brighter. Swagger, while no slouch, looks more like a NXT rookie than the world champion.

Swagger dominated early offense with power moves, and Morrison responded with his arsenal of kicks. This should be a title match...and Morison should win. Interesting to note, Stryker touted Swagger\'s collegiate accolades, and Lawler and Cole basically said that no ne cares about that stuff (a shot at Jim Ross???) Stryker is a better play-by-play announcer than Cole. More \"ground and pound\" offense by Swagger, and high flying response by Morrison including a corkscrew plancha leads us into a commercial.

Commercial Break-

Back from break, Swagger in control after mid-section wear down. Nice that they are focusing on the matches and draft as opposed to the standard backstage nonsense. A gutwrench powerbomb earned Smackdown the next draft pick. This was easily the match of the night.

Christian - drafted to Smackdown

Christian walked out onto the stage and motioned to Swagger that he is after his title.

Commercial Break-

Iron Man 2 is going to be great.

Next week\'s host will be Wayne Brady, which leads to the question: is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?

Stryker and the other two ran down the draft picks thus far.

Backstage, Carlito and Ted Dibiasi talked. Ted offered Carlito an assistant job. Carlito declined. In walks R Truth, who Ted offered the same thing. Truth told him he\'s just like his daddy and wants a Virgil of his own. Truth slapped him in the face for his efforts.

A Nickleback song played while they showed Cena addressing the troops overseas in recognition of National Troops week, or something of that nature. Now, there are three things I\'m sick of hearing about: Nickleback, John Cena and the troops. No offense to our armed forces or their efforts, but we get it.

Final draft pick match in what has been a lackluster show, not surprisingly.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Hornswoggle

Ziggler chased Horny to the outside, and grabbed him and threw him into the ring. Hornswoggle kept him at bay by throwing his shoes and a hard hat at him, as the ref counted Dolph out. Ziggler beat up on Hornswoggle. Why didn\'t the little guy get disqualified for that? Stupid.

Jericho - drafted to Raw

Commercal Break

Supplemental draft will be held Tuesday at noon on WWE.com

A promo aired for Extreme Rules encore presentation available all week on PPV.

As they were about to present the #1 contender main event, Batista came out with a purpose and grabbed the mic. He cut a promo on this whole situation. Sheamus\' music cut him off. This might be cool.

Sheamus called Batista a loser just like Orton is. Batista yelled back that he didn\'t lose. Orton\'s music cut them both off. He said he has heard Batista\'s griping since the days of Evolution. Sheamus reminded them both that they are losers. Cena came out and made this a triple threat match. Sheamus and Orton mixed it up, as Batista stood on the outside. They took turns with one guy on the outside as the oher two fought. WWE creative must write this stuff 10 minutes before airtime. Every time I watch WWE, I remember why I prefer TNA.

Orton smashed Sheamus into the post from the outside with authority. Batista gained the advantage on Orton.

Commercial Break

Things seemed to pick up once they came back, as all three were on each other rather ferociously. This might be Batista\'s last match. Sheamus looks strange with his pale flesh in contrast to all the burnt sienna complexion of everyone else in the WWE. After an RKO on Sheamus, Edge hit the ring and Orton with a spear. Batista made the most of this by pinning Orton.

Awesome! We get another Batista v Cena match. I thought he was quitting this week. Michael Cole is almost completely hoarse. They replayed the spear about 6 times and in a unique twist, showed Edge walking away backwards up the ramp as he made eye contact to the man he just screwed. WWE should do this more often.
