TNA Tour UK Results - Glasgow Scotland 1/23

Sent in by Tommy Rice

I was at the TNA house show last night (23/1) in Glasgow, Scotland. Mostly kids in the audience and the top section was taped off just like last year but a good crowd that was in to everything all night. JB was the ring announced for the night and did the backstage pass thing that TNA always do.

* Match 1: Chris Sabin v Amazing Red (Number 1 contenders match for the X Division Title)
Odd one to start with as Red hasn\'t lost the title on TV yet, but was a good opener with loads of spot you\'d expect from these two. Red won with the standing shooting star press in about 8 minutes. The crowd was solidly behind Red.

* Match 2: Eric Young v Suicide (For the Global Title)
I\'ve always wondered why Suicide has been kept around as a character and tonight I found out, he was massively over with all the kids who were going nuts for him. Young won with a piledriver around the 9 minute mark to retain his title. After the match Young attempted another piledriver but Suicide fought him off and chased him to the back.

* Match 3: Hernandez v Rhino
Before the match JB brought a guy out of the audience to announce the \"special referee\" which turned out to be Earl Hebner who got his usual heel response. The match itself went about 7 minutes and wasn\'t too good. Crowd was behind Hernandez for the match, but when Rhino set up for the Gore he got a good reaction. Hernandez won with the big splash off the top rope.

* Match 4: Kurt Angle v Desmond Wolfe v Daniels
This match was by far the best of the night, which is, no surprise considering the three men involved. Daniels and Wolfe double teamed Angle for the majority of the match but inevitably turned on each other as they were trying to get the win. The finish came in about the 12th minute mark after Angle pinned Wolfe with the Olympic Slam after Wolfe had taken out Daniels with the Tower of London.

* Intermission: After the intermission JB asked the crows what they thought about some of the surprises that had been happening on Impact over the last month. He mentioned some wrestlers by name like Jeff Hardy and Ric Flair who got big ovations, but interestingly Hogan got bood.

* Match 5: Hamada v Sarita with Taylor Wilde
Was a decent enough match but it seemed to stutter in places, I expect this was meant to be a tag team match with Kong before her problems with Bubba. Hamada won at about the 7 minute mark with the Hamada Driver.

* Match 6: Team 3D v Beer Money v The British Invasion with Big Rob (3 way Tables Match for future tag title shot)
The Brits came out before the match to slate Scotland for wanting independence and to break up the British union and then proceeded to sing God Save the Queen (the English/British) national anthem to get some good heat. Interestingly Williams didn\'t have his X division title. Beer Money interrupted to get the biggest pop of the night and then 3D came out with a Lion Rampant to a good pop too. Magnus got 3D\'d through a table for the Dudleys win at about the 12 minute mark.

After the match Beer Money and 3D celebrated then brought a kid into the ring and gave him a piece of the table which they all signed. Good segment as it seemed like they were genuinely having fun.

* Main Event: AJ Styles v Samoa Joe (for the TNA title)
Decent match but we have seen better between the two, Joe was hugely over which was kind of surprising as I though the kids would be solidly behind AJ. Finish came at about the 12 minute mark. AJ pulled Hebner into the corner as Joe was charging so the ref was down when Joe put AJ in the Kokina Clutch which AJ tapped to but Hebner was still down. Joe tried to revive the ref which allowed AJ to grab the TNA title but Joe ducked when AJ tried to hit him. AJ then hit a low blow and Styles Clash for the win.

After the match AJ cut a heel promo on Joe and told the ladies in the audience he\'d be in his hotel room, Joe got on the mic and told the ladies in the audience that AJ wouldn\'t be in his hotel room but the hospital and chased him to the back.
