Although many in the WWE Universe are not surprised by Mr. Kenndy's release there is some speculation mounting as to the specifics his contract termination. Kennedy had been out of action since August last year with a torn shoulder and made a return to WWE last week on Monday Night Raw. After several injuries and failed attempts to push Mr. Kenndy WWE grew increasingly concerned for the direct of Mr. Kennedy character so much so creative had no real plans in place for his future after his return.
Reports coming out of Wrestlemania weekend suggest Kennedy was overly "dealing" with the pain. Kenny in recent months made some outspoken comments toward WWE's Wellness policy claiming it was "unfair" which likely landed him in some hot water with the company. There was some speculation that Kennedy would assume a commentary role due to his natural abilities on the mic and thus keeping him away from the ring and injury. Many will ultimately see the release as mild - mid shock although it does suggest WWE is not concerned about the likes of TNA picking Kennedy up in the near future.
Further detailed reports are expected to be published in the coming days.
