WWE is reportedly planning a commemorative championship belt to mark 30 years since The Rock made his debut at Survivor Series.
According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, the belt is among several pieces of anniversary merchandise WWE has planned for November. The company also intends to revisit moments from The Rock’s career on social media. The belt’s design and release date are still under wraps, and there is no word yet on whether The Rock will appear on WWE television for the occasion.
When The Rock first stepped into a WWE ring at Madison Square Garden on 17 November 1996, fans knew him as Rocky Maivia. By the end of his Survivor Series elimination match, the newcomer was the last man standing for his team.
As The Rock, he went on to become one of the defining stars of the Attitude Era. His rivalries with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H helped make him a household name long before he found success in Hollywood. WWE last celebrated his debut in 2021, when he reached the 25-year mark.
If you could choose one moment from The Rock’s career to feature on the anniversary belt, what would it be? Let us know in the comments.
