MLW has reportedly brought in former AEW executive Rafael Morffi to oversee its live events as the promotion continues to make changes behind the scenes.
According to Fightful Select, Morffi has taken over as Senior Director of Live Events, replacing Mike Kitlas. The report states that Morffi began working with MLW around a month ago. PWInsider first reported Kitlas’ departure.
Morffi previously served as AEW’s Vice President of Live Events and Touring. He joined the company in 2019 and remained until the end of 2023, when he left to take a senior executive position at the Barclays Center.
His arrival comes during a busy period for MLW. In October, the promotion announced that Fusion would begin airing on Amazon Prime Video, expanding the programme’s distribution.
MLW is also preparing to return to traditional pay-per-view with Saturday Night SuperFight on 7 November.
Meanwhile, another departure was announced on Sunday, with Paul Walter Hauser confirming that he had parted ways with the company over creative differences.
