Batista is building up for his next major acting role, revealing that he has added 20 pounds of muscle ahead of playing Kratos in Amazon Prime Video’s God of War series.
The former WWE World Champion shared a video of his progress on Instagram Stories, giving fans a look at his changing physique. He began weight training for the character after his casting was announced in August.
Batista stepped into the lead role after Ryan Hurst suffered a bicep injury during filming in June, prompting the production to recast the character. The series brings the popular PlayStation video game franchise to television.
Two seasons are being filmed back-to-back, with Frederick E.O. Toye directing the opening two episodes. A premiere date has yet to be confirmed, although a potential 2028 release has been suggested.
God of War is another major addition to Batista’s growing acting career. Following the January release of The Wrecking Crew, he also has roles in Road House 2 and Highlander lined up. Fellow WWE star Drew McIntyre is also part of the Highlander cast.
