Jake “The Snake” Roberts says he has signed with WWE again following his departure from AEW.
The WWE Hall of Famer shared the news during an appearance on Nick Club Wrestling Happy Hour, hosted by Nick Teodoro. Roberts said he is keeping busy and enjoying his latest chapter.
“Staying busy. Not in AEW anymore. Re-signed with WWE, doing some stuff for them and just enjoying life, man.”
Roberts did not reveal the details of his WWE agreement or what his work with the company involves. He previously appeared at a WWE and Fanatics meet-and-greet during SummerSlam weekend.
His comments follow an interview with Bill Apter in May, when he confirmed he was no longer employed by AEW. Roberts had joined the promotion in March 2020, where he managed Lance Archer.
Reflecting on his time there, Roberts spoke warmly about Tony Khan while suggesting AEW could get more from its roster.
“Tony Khan needs to loosen up the reins a little bit and take some advice. He’s got a good product. He’s got a lot of talent in there. I think his talent could be used better. Just my own thoughts. I loved working for Tony Khan. I don’t wish him nothing but the best. He’s a sweet guy.”
Roberts was particularly passionate about Archer, praising their partnership and saying the powerhouse deserved more opportunities.
“It was the perfect pairing. We had everything that we needed. And he is such an unbelievable talent. He has never gotten the break he deserves. He really hasn’t. It’s a damn shame. Really is.”
Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014, Roberts now has a renewed connection with the company where he became one of wrestling’s most recognisable names.
