WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has shared another update on his recovery after suffering facial injuries in a frightening fall outside a restaurant in Tampa, Florida, last week.
The 77-year-old wrestling legend has revealed that he still requires another operation and may also need a skin graft before he can put the incident behind him.
Despite the setback, Flair remains positive about his recovery and appears confident that he will soon be back to his usual self.
Taking to X on Wednesday, October 28, the 16-time world champion thanked the medical professionals who have been treating him.
“One More Surgery And One More Possible Skin Graft, And Then I Will Be Good To Go! Thank You @USFHealth Eye Institute!” Flair wrote.
Although Flair did not provide a date for the additional surgery, his latest message suggests he is looking forward to completing his treatment.
The incident happened on Friday, October 23, when Flair fell outside a Wagamama restaurant in Tampa.
According to TMZ, Flair had been sitting at the restaurant's bar earlier that morning before getting up and walking across the street, leaving his phone and drink behind.
He subsequently fell and struck his face, suffering cuts to his head and around his eye. There were also concerns that he may have sustained a concussion.
Emergency services attended the scene, and Flair was transported to hospital by ambulance. Photographs obtained by TMZ showed medical personnel assisting the wrestling icon following the accident.
Later that evening, Flair's daughter, WWE superstar Charlotte Flair, offered some reassurance to concerned fans while sharing a light-hearted story about her father's explanation for the accident.
Charlotte joked that her father had told his doctor the fall happened because the Ultimate Warrior had dropped him on his head during their wrestling days.
She also reassured supporters that her father was “going to be ok.”
The following day, October 24, Flair posted a photograph showing his bandaged eye and expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming support he had received.
He thanked fans for their messages and prayers, along with the doctors and medical staff at Tampa General Hospital, who he revealed had been looking after him until 4:30 a.m.
Flair made it clear that his immediate priority was recovering from his injuries, reassuring everyone that “I will be okay.”
The latest update indicates that his treatment is not quite finished, with at least one more surgical procedure required and the possibility of a skin graft.
Flair remains one of professional wrestling's most celebrated figures, having enjoyed a remarkable career spanning several decades. A two-time WWE Hall of Fame inductee, the Nature Boy continues to receive enormous support from wrestling fans around the world.
For now, the focus remains firmly on his health and recovery, with supporters hoping the remaining treatment goes smoothly.
We at WNS wish Ric Flair a speedy and complete recovery.
