John Cena is heading back to WWE Raw, and he says the wait for answers is almost over.

Cena will appear at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 2, marking his first Raw appearance since retiring from in-ring competition. WWE confirmed his return during Monday’s broadcast, shortly before the main event.

Taking to X, Cena teased news about the John Cena Classic and reminded fans that Raw starts earlier next week.

“Make sure not to miss #WWERaw next week. SPECIAL START TIME OF 6PM EST! The wait is over, the speculation ends 11/2,” Cena wrote. “Let’s build this ‘Never Seen’ CLASSIC! OUR time is NOW!”

Cena introduced the Classic at Backlash in May, outlining a show featuring NXT talent against main roster stars, with fans voting to decide a new championship. He confirmed on NBC’s TODAY earlier this month that the event is coming in December.

An official date and venue remain unannounced. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that December 12 was the target, which would put it on the same day as Wrestlepalooza: Perth in Australia.

Meanwhile, a source speaking to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select said December 5 was unlikely. The source could not confirm whether the Classic would take place in the United States on December 12 or a week later on December 19.

Cena retired after submitting to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., on December 13, 2025. He has since continued working with WWE as an ambassador, with the Classic becoming his next major project.

Next week’s Raw also features Solo Sikoa against Royce Keys. It is the final Raw before Crown Jewel on November 7 in Riyadh.

Raw streams live on Netflix on November 2 at the special time of 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT.
