Vince Russo has a blunt message for Ric Flair: put your family first.
Speaking on the Coach and Bro Show, Russo questioned whether the 77-year-old considers how his public behaviour affects Charlotte Flair, who he believes is repeatedly left handling the fallout.
“What he’s gotta do is put his family first. I mean, it’s that simple. He has to take into consideration what he is putting her through. And again, I don’t know if Ric takes that into consideration when he says the things he says and when he does the things he does. It just seems like Charlotte is the one having to put out fires.”
Russo pointed to David Flair’s years away from the spotlight and Reid Flair’s death in 2013, arguing that Charlotte faces particular pressure as a public figure.
“Again, he should be conscious of that and be aware of that, he’s got a daughter. Because David’s out of the limelight for years, Reid passed away, so there’s just one daughter that is going to constantly be answering for him, and he should take that into consideration. Because she’s probably worrying about him 24/7, Coach. It’s a full-time job, and I’m sure it is for her as well.”
His comments follow reports of a difficult few days for Flair in Tampa. According to Ringside News, Flair fell outside an establishment on October 23, suffering a head wound and an eye injury that required an overnight stay at Tampa General Hospital.
Flair had also recently revealed a blood clot in his leg, forcing him to cancel a Seattle autograph appearance ahead of a planned procedure.
Ringside News separately published unverified reader allegations about Flair’s conduct at The Pearl. One claimed he tapped a woman’s forehead and made a Botox remark before the fall. No connection between that alleged encounter and the accident has been established.
Flair was reportedly discharged on October 24 and returned to the establishment that evening.
For Russo, the concern extends beyond Flair himself. He believes Charlotte is left facing questions and worrying about her father, although those views are his assessment rather than comments from Charlotte.
