WWE Raw delivered two world championship matches, a hard-hitting No Disqualification showdown and a chaotic finish as the road to Crown Jewel continued in Fresno.
Stephanie Vaquer’s absence forced a change to the advertised card, giving Becky Lynch an immediate opportunity against Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Meanwhile, Sami Zayn’s demand for respect resulted in an unexpected title defence against Je’Von Evans.
Adam Pearce opened the show by confirming that Vaquer had not been medically cleared to face Lynch in their scheduled number one contender’s match. Instead, Lynch would challenge Morgan for the championship in the main event.
Before Pearce could finish his announcements, Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn interrupted.
“Let me get this right. You fly me all the way to Fresno, you've got me in the back doing promotional pictures...I'm in the back and hear the whole show's changing, but I don't see my name on the sheet.”
Zayn questioned why Roman Reigns had not been brought in to handle promotional duties. When the crowd responded with an “OTC” chant, the champion turned their enthusiasm against them.
“Guess what? OTC looked at the dates on his calendar and he skipped Fresno!...I wish I was skipping Fresno, too! But I'm not!”
Zayn then asked Pearce to “get the hell out of this ring” so he could address the audience.
With fans chanting “Sami sucks”, Zayn argued that his WrestleMania main event, Grand Slam status and current championship reign should have earned him greater appreciation. He complained that fans needed stars such as Trick Williams, CM Punk and Reigns to tell them how good they were.
Zayn claimed that nobody had achieved more with fewer advantages, insisting The Bloodline only reached its full potential after he joined. He even credited himself with helping WWE reach Netflix and suggested company executives would eventually thank him personally.
He placed himself alongside Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels before warning Reigns that concentrating on 946 could prove costly at Crown Jewel.
Zayn’s complaints eventually included Penta and Je’Von Evans, bringing the Young OG out to confront him.
Evans explained that holding the WWE Championship naturally made Zayn a target. He initially wanted only to hear the champion repeat his comments face-to-face, but the exchange soon turned towards the title. Evans suggested that Zayn did not have to arrive at Crown Jewel as champion and that he would welcome the chance to face Reigns himself.
Zayn dismissed the challenge, telling Evans that several more years of hard work might make him half the wrestler Zayn was today. He dropped the microphone and left the ring.
Pearce returned before the argument could end. He agreed that Zayn deserved the spotlight, then announced that the champion would defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Evans immediately.
Zayn and Evans opened with a competitive exchange, with neither man holding the advantage for long. The champion eventually slowed Evans down and controlled a stretch of the match, but the challenger fought his way out of the corner with a flurry of punches.
Evans knocked Zayn down following an Irish whip and earned a two-count. He then countered an attempted Exploder Suplex and avoided the Helluva Kick, creating an opening to climb the ropes.
A high Frog Splash brought Evans another near fall and left Zayn searching for a way to regroup.
The champion rolled outside and began moving up the entrance ramp, only for Penta to appear with his Money in the Bank briefcase. With a referee accompanying Penta towards ringside, Zayn hurried back into the ring.
Evans was waiting with an OG Cutter, but Zayn narrowly lifted his arm before the three-count.
Penta remained at ringside encouraging Evans until Bron Breakker attacked him. Breakker picked up the briefcase, prompting Evans to launch himself over the top rope and take him down.
That diversion gave Zayn the opening he needed. When Evans attempted to springboard back inside, the champion knocked him off course, delivered an Exploder Suplex into the corner and followed with the Helluva Kick for the victory.
Winner and still Undisputed WWE Champion: Sami Zayn.
The trouble continued after Zayn left. Breakker climbed into the ring and began punching the fallen Evans, bringing Penta in to make the save.
Penta briefly drove Breakker back with kicks, but Bronson Reed arrived and flattened him. Logan Paul then joined his teammates as The Vision took control.
Reed crushed Evans with a Tsunami before helping position Penta for a powerful Spear from Breakker. Another Tsunami left Penta down alongside Evans as The Vision stood over both men.
Later backstage, Pearce checked on the pair. Furious about the assault, Penta and Evans demanded a World Tag Team Championship opportunity. Pearce granted their request, confirming that they would challenge The Vision at Crown Jewel.
Elsewhere, Lynch prepared for her title match while The Judgment Day discussed Morgan’s unexpected defence. Morgan made it clear that she intended to beat her challenger.
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria wasted little time taking their rivalry outside the ring, where steel steps, chairs and tables quickly became part of the action.
Bayley arranged the steps beside a chair and seated Valkyria before charging up the steps and launching herself into her opponent. She tried another attack using the barricade, but Valkyria recovered and cut her off.
Valkyria answered with a running Shotgun Dropkick that drove Bayley into the steel steps. After bringing the action briefly inside for a pin attempt, she returned to the floor and propped a table against the commentary desk.
The setup backfired when Bayley dived into her, sending both women crashing through the table.
The punishment continued as Valkyria introduced kendo sticks and both competitors used steel chairs. Neither could maintain control for long, with every sustained attack eventually drawing a response.
Bayley also used a broom before retrieving another table, earning a loud reaction from the crowd.
“Genius at work!” Bayley declared while preparing her next attack.
“Lunatic at work,” Wade Barrett replied on commentary.
Bayley overheard the remark and paused to confront Barrett, giving Valkyria an opportunity to fight back.
Inside the ring, Bayley landed a Scoop Slam and climbed the ropes for a Diving Elbow Drop. Valkyria pulled a chair across her body, leaving Bayley to land elbow-first on the steel.
Valkyria followed with a Gutwrench Powerbomb onto the chair, but Bayley escaped the pin.
Two more chairs were positioned facing each other. Valkyria laid Bayley across them, delivered repeated elbows and climbed to the middle rope. Her attempted Moonsault missed when Bayley moved, sending Valkyria crashing onto the chairs.
Bayley connected with a Running Knee before Valkyria raked her eyes. A Bayley-to-Belly Suplex produced another close two-count.
The chairs remained central to the contest. Bayley stood on one while pulling Valkyria into position, but Valkyria countered with a modified Nightwing off the chairs.
She immediately applied the Last Breath sleeper, forcing Bayley to struggle towards an escape. Bayley eventually rolled out of the ring with Valkyria still attached, sending both women to the floor and breaking the hold.
Bayley recovered first, drove Valkyria into the ring post and delivered another Bayley-to-Belly Suplex on the floor.
After Bayley retrieved a garbage can, Valkyria dropped to her knees and pleaded for forgiveness. She apologised repeatedly and even kissed Bayley’s feet, buying enough time to grab an object and throw it into Bayley’s face.
Valkyria then bent Bayley over the garbage can and climbed onto the apron. However, Bayley caught her attempted diving attack and turned it into a Powerbomb through the can.
Bayley followed by placing Valkyria on another ringside table. From the middle turnbuckle, she delivered a Diving Elbow Drop that drove her opponent through it.
Back inside, Bayley used a kendo stick to increase the pressure on a Crossface. With no escape available, Valkyria submitted.
Winner by submission: Bayley.
Raquel Rodriguez established her strength advantage immediately, catching IYO SKY and throwing her aside. SKY tried to apply a headlock and then a sleeper, but Rodriguez powered out of both attempts.
SKY changed her approach, using speed and movement to unsettle the champion. She sent Rodriguez outside and followed with a Suicide Dive before sharing a moment with a young fan at ringside.
With the youngster helping her onto the barricade, SKY launched a Crossbody onto Rodriguez and returned for a high-five.
Rodriguez eventually regained control and attempted a Torture Rack, but SKY escaped before the hold was fully secured. Running strikes and kicks helped SKY build momentum again.
From the apron, SKY used an Arm Breaker over the ropes before climbing to the top. Rodriguez caught her next aerial attack by the throat, only for SKY to counter the attempted Chokeslam with a DDT.
SKY tried to lift Rodriguez from a Double Underhook position but could not complete the move. She instead went upstairs for a Moonsault, which Rodriguez avoided before connecting with a Running Clothesline.
The champion followed with elbows in the corner and a Fallaway Slam. SKY responded by taking out Rodriguez’s legs as she climbed the turnbuckles, then delivered an aerial takedown from the top.
An attempted Bullet Train attack was stopped by Rodriguez’s Big Boot, but SKY kicked out of the resulting cover.
Rodriguez looked for a Powerbomb, only for SKY to counter and send her into the turnbuckles. A Missile Dropkick followed, and this time SKY connected with the Bullet Train attack.
SKY climbed again for Over the Moonsault, but Rodriguez raised her knees to block it. The champion then lifted SKY from the mat, only for SKY to turn the situation into a sudden roll-up and secure the three-count.
Winner: IYO SKY.
SKY’s celebration was cut short when Roxanne Perez attacked her from behind. Perez dragged her back into the ring, where she and Rodriguez delivered a two-on-one beating.
The show also revisited the ongoing conflict between 946 and The Bloodline. Royce Keys directed a warning at Solo Sikoa, promising to give him the same treatment he had already given the twins. Sikoa responded in a separate Bloodline promo as their confrontation approached.
Ethan Page and Big Cass began by isolating Dragon Lee, using regular tags to keep him trapped on their side of the ring.
Lee eventually escaped and brought in Chad Gable, who entered with a Flying Lariat and avoided a Big Boot from Cass.
Gable and Lee then combined for an impressive attack. As Lee ran towards him, Gable launched his partner over the top rope with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex, sending Lee crashing onto both opponents at ringside.
The pace remained high as the teams exchanged tags. Gable applied an Armbar to Cass while hanging over the ropes, but the referee ordered him to release it.
Page then intercepted Gable with a diving attack as the Intercontinental Champion tried to reach his corner.
Cass continued preventing the tag, catching Gable when he attempted to leap past him and throwing him back. Gable finally created an opening with a German Suplex and brought Lee into the match.
Lee immediately accelerated the action. He sent Cass outside, caught Page with a rolling German Suplex and added a Superkick.
A Suicide Dive drove Page into the barricade. Lee quickly returned to the ring and dived through the opposite side onto Cass, then followed with a Tope con Hilo onto Page.
Cass attempted to halt the burst of offence with a Backbreaker, but Lee escaped into a Tilt-a-Whirl DDT. A Running Elbow Strike earned Lee a two-count.
Gable returned to the apron, only for Page to pull him down and deliver a Suplex on the floor before Lee could make the tag.
Lee briefly checked his own right knee, then caught Page with a Baseball Slide. He went to check on Gable and called for the referee, who left the ring to assess the champion.
With the official occupied, Cass grabbed Lee by the mask and pulled him onto the apron. Lee answered with a Step-Up Kick and climbed the ropes.
Cass caught his aerial attack in position for a Chokeslam, but Lee spun free and rolled him up.
Medical personnel came to ringside to attend to Gable, leaving Lee to continue against both opponents. The coverage did not establish whether Gable’s condition was part of the match or a genuine injury.
Lee battled on, but the numbers eventually proved decisive. After the referee ordered Cass out of the ring, Page caught Lee with the Ego Plex and secured the victory.
Winners: Ethan Page & Big Cass.
Backstage, Cathy Kelley asked The Vision about their newly announced title defence against Penta and Evans.
Logan Paul mocked Penta, while Reed warned the challengers about the punishment awaiting them. Breakker then delivered the group’s final response.
“Gentlemen? We accept.”
WWE also advertised John Cena’s return to Raw in Brooklyn, marking his first appearance on the programme since retiring. Solo Sikoa versus Royce Keys was also announced for the show, with SmackDown scheduled to be taped afterward ahead of Crown Jewel travel.
Becky Lynch entered the main event with a championship opportunity that had replaced her scheduled number one contender’s match. Liv Morgan arrived without her Judgment Day teammates as she prepared to defend the title.
The opening exchanges featured quick holds, counters and reversals. Lynch focused on Morgan’s arm, laying the groundwork for the Dis-Arm-Her, while the champion used her speed to prevent Lynch from controlling the match.
Morgan gained the advantage and began working on Lynch’s leg. At one stage, she sat on the turnbuckle and pulled back on the leg while Lynch was stretched awkwardly across the corner.
The champion also threw Lynch from the top rope, followed with an Elbow Drop and attempted a cover. Lynch kicked out, but Morgan continued keeping her grounded.
Morgan added the Three Amigos, drawing boos from the Fresno crowd.
Lynch gradually fought back with strikes and resumed targeting the champion’s arm. Morgan answered with her own offence, looking for Ob-LIV-ion before transitioning into a Lung Blower.
A charge into the corner brought Morgan into a Backhand Strike. The two then fought on the turnbuckles, where Lynch delivered an Avalanche Back Drop that left both down.
Their next exchange on the ropes favoured Morgan, who connected with a Powerbomb from the top and applied a Half Crab.
Lynch crawled towards the ropes, but Morgan pulled her back towards the centre before she could secure the break.
The challenger eventually rallied with a Superplex, keeping hold of Morgan and following directly into a DDT. Morgan survived the cover, leaving both women needing time to recover.
When Morgan rolled outside, Lynch caught her with a Baseball Slide. Lynch then cleared the commentary table, but the delay allowed Morgan to attack from behind.
Morgan repeatedly drove Lynch’s face into the desk before climbing onto it and pulling her challenger up. Lynch countered with a Manhandle Slam onto the table, which remained intact.
Lynch returned Morgan to the ring, but the champion immediately rolled outside again.
Morgan then sent Lynch over the steel steps before climbing onto them herself. From there, she delivered a Sunset Flip Powerbomb onto the ringside floor.
Both women remained down as the referee counted, eventually returning to the ring just before the count reached ten.
They resumed fighting from their knees, trading punches as they slowly regained their footing.
Morgan followed Lynch towards the ropes and connected with Ob-LIV-ion, but the challenger kicked out just before three.
The champion’s frustration grew, only for Lynch to respond with a sudden Manhandle Slam. Morgan also survived, keeping her championship hopes alive.
Lynch charged towards the corner, but Morgan sidestepped and attempted a roll-up. Lynch escaped and transitioned into the Dis-Arm-Her, dragging Morgan back towards the centre as the champion tried to reach the ropes.
Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez then arrived at ringside, distracting Lynch.
Morgan sent her challenger outside, where Perez and Rodriguez attempted to get involved. Lynch avoided them and took both women down with a Cannonball before returning to the ring.
Morgan attempted another Ob-LIV-ion, but Lynch countered into a Manhandle Slam.
Lynch covered the champion and appeared close to winning the title, only for Perez and Rodriguez to enter the ring and attack her before the referee could complete the count.
The referee called for the disqualification, giving Lynch the victory while Morgan retained her championship.
Winner by disqualification: Becky Lynch. Liv Morgan remains Women’s World Champion.
The Judgment Day continued their assault after the bell, with Morgan joining Perez and Rodriguez in attacking Lynch.
Chelsea Green rushed to the ring and tried to help, but the numbers quickly overwhelmed her. IYO SKY then arrived, sparking a larger brawl that eventually left the women down around the ring.
Tiffany Stratton seized the moment, appearing with her Money in the Bank briefcase and a referee.
With Morgan vulnerable, Stratton climbed to the top rope and delivered the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. She appeared ready to turn the opportunity into an official cash-in.
Before the match could begin, Dominik Mysterio rushed into the ring, lifted Morgan onto his shoulder and carried her up the entrance ramp.
Stratton was left without a champion to face, and the cash-in never became official. Morgan escaped Fresno with her title after surviving both Lynch’s challenge and Stratton’s attempted cash-in.
