Samantha Irvin has revealed that WWE offered her a record deal before she left the company, but she turned it down because her ambitions were firmly rooted in wrestling.
Writing on X, the former WWE ring announcer explained that she wanted to manage wrestlers and had no interest in pursuing a career in the music business.
“WWE offered me a record deal, to which I politely declined because I have no interest in the music business! My interest was in managing wrestlers. And that’s all I’ve ever expressed.”
Irvin also addressed the music she released after her departure, explaining that it was a fun project with former Cirque du Soleil colleagues for fans who followed her singing before she entered wrestling.
“I made some songs last year for fun & videos with my colleagues from Cirque du Soleil and released independently for my singing fans from before wrestling, but other than that, I made no proclamations about or efforts towards a “music” career 🙏🏽 Singing career wise, I’ve had a fantastic one, though!!! Saw the world multiple times over,” she wrote.
Irvin joined WWE in 2021 and became a popular voice of the company before leaving in 2024. Her latest comments offer a clearer picture of the role she hoped to pursue beyond ring announcing.
Her reported two-year non-compete restriction is expected to expire this month. While that has prompted interest in her wrestling future, reports suggest she is not expected to join AEW immediately.
