A piece of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s wrestling history has fetched $225,700 at auction.
The match-worn, signed DonJoy knee brace was sold through Heritage Auctions, which listed it as dating from circa 1999. It came with a WWE letter signed by Linda McMahon.
Austin signed the top of the brace in gold paint pen, adding the date “5-8-99” nearby. A WWF authentication sticker sits close to the inscription, with authentication documentation from WWE, Heritage Auctions, PSA/DNA and Beckett Authentication Services accompanying the item.
The 16-inch brace shows plenty of wear, including scratches, paint loss and a broken top button. Three of its four Velcro fasteners remain fully functional.
Heritage highlighted how rarely Austin’s ring-worn gear becomes available to collectors.
“Very few Stone Cold match worn items have reached the open market. His match worn vests have never surfaced which has left collectors scurrying for anything worn by the Rattlesnake.”
The $225,700 sale comfortably surpassed the $115,900 paid for another Austin knee brace at Heritage Auctions in May 2026. The listing also noted that a brace Austin wore at WrestleMania 38 previously sold for $58,045.
Although the auction title dates this latest brace to circa 1999, the description also refers to the early 2000s.
