CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are reportedly not scheduled to face each other at WrestleMania 43, despite recent speculation about WWE’s plans.
Rumours last week suggested Rhodes vs. Punk would headline night one of the 2027 event, with Roman Reigns facing Oba Femi in the main event of night two.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, the proposed Reigns vs. Femi match lines up with what he has heard. However, he reports that Rhodes vs. Punk is not currently planned for WrestleMania.
Meltzer acknowledged that another meeting between Rhodes and Punk would make sense. They are SmackDown’s two leading stars and have largely been kept apart since their SummerSlam title match on August 1.
There is still plenty of time for WWE’s direction to change. Meltzer noted that it is only October, with injuries and other circumstances often prompting several revisions to WrestleMania plans.
For now, the latest report casts doubt on one of the rumoured headline matches while lending support to the other.
