Shayna Baszler has officially signed with TNA Wrestling, adding a contract announcement to her championship-winning arrival at Bound for Glory.
TNA confirmed the signing on October 22, crediting Instinct Culture’s Denise Salcedo with first reporting the news. Baszler made her debut at the October 11 pay-per-view, teaming with Zoey Serrano, formerly known as Zoey Stark, to defeat Allie and Kiera Hogan for the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship.
The pair compete as The Apex, bringing their established partnership from WWE into TNA’s Knockouts division.
In its announcement, TNA highlighted Baszler’s experience across professional wrestling and mixed martial arts:
“TNA Wrestling has signed Shayna Baszler, as first reported by Instinct Culture’s Denise Salcedo.”
“The multi-time champion in singles and tag team wrestling, Baszler is already a champion in TNA, as half of the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship with Zoey Serrano as The Apex – they won the titles at Bound For Glory on October 11, in Baszler’s TNA debut. Baszler made her pro wrestling debut in 2015 and also has had a long run in the MMA world, where she has 15 wins, with 13 by submission.”
Baszler and Serrano also share a history with TNA authority figure Daria Rae, formerly known as Sonya Deville. All three were allies during their time in WWE.
For Baszler, this new chapter is also an opportunity to shape how fans remember her career. Speaking with Salcedo, the 46-year-old said retirement does not feel close, but her legacy has increasingly been on her mind.
She wants the authenticity of her fighting background to leave a lasting impression and help strengthen TNA’s reputation.
“Everything about me is real,” Baszler said. “Everything I do is just what I am. And if I can bring reality and realism, if I can be in the discussion and make TNA be one of the first organizations to be brought up when people go, ‘Yeah, but who’s the most legitimate locker room?’ If because I’m there, if I can bring that into the discussion, then that’s the legacy I want to leave.”
WWE released Baszler in May 2025, although she has remained on good terms with the company and spent time helping backstage in NXT.
Her signing follows other recent TNA roster moves, including the additions of Shotzi Blackheart and Amazing Red, alongside a new deal for Director of Authority Santino Marella.
