Ilja Dragunov steps into an AEW ring for the first time tonight as Dynamite brings the fallout from WrestleDream to Coral Gables, Florida.

The newly signed star will face “Speedball” Mike Bailey at the Watsco Center, giving fans their first chance to see him compete since joining the company. Tony Khan announced the match on X on Tuesday, following Dragunov’s introduction at WrestleDream.

Dragunov last wrestled in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 17 episode of SmackDown. His WWE contract expired in August, and he revealed this week that WWE had wanted to re-sign him.

Bailey heads into the match after competing in WrestleDream’s Clockwork Carnage bout for the AEW World Championship. He entered third before being eliminated by Konosuke Takeshita.

There will also be plenty of interest in how Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland work together. The AEW World Champion teams with Copeland to face Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, just days after their dramatic finish at WrestleDream.

Ospreay retained his championship by pinning Copeland with only three seconds remaining in Clockwork Carnage. Copeland made his intentions clear afterwards, telling Ospreay he is coming for the title. Having announced on last week’s Dynamite that he will retire in 2027, Copeland still has championship ambitions before he calls time on his career.

Fletcher and Knight have their own issues to address. More miscommunication between the pair contributed to their loss to the Young Bucks at WrestleDream.

The Bucks will also be in action tonight, with the AEW World Tag Team Champions facing Mark Davis and Jake Doyle in a title eliminator. Davis will be looking to bounce back after unsuccessfully challenging Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship at WrestleDream.

Meanwhile, Maya World and Queen Aminata will battle to become the next challenger for Persephone’s TBS Championship. Aminata gets another opportunity to move towards a title match after Persephone retained against her, Dani Luna and Hyan in a four-way at WrestleDream.

Tonight’s announced line-up includes:

• Ilja Dragunov vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey in Dragunov’s AEW in-ring debut.

• Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland vs. Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight.

• The Young Bucks vs. Mark Davis and Jake Doyle in an AEW World Tag Team Championship eliminator.

• Maya World vs. Queen Aminata in a TBS Championship No. 1 Contender’s Match.

• Fallout from WrestleDream.

AEW Dynamite airs live tonight, October 21, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on TBS and HBO Max.

The company is also building towards Blood and Guts on Wednesday, November 4, at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Full Gear follows on Saturday, November 14, at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.
