WWE Raw arrived in San Diego with Roman Reigns returning, Penta facing Bron Breakker and Chad Gable defending the Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee.
With Crown Jewel approaching on November 7, Reigns also came face-to-face with Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn. Meanwhile, The Bloodline’s rivalry with 946 continued to escalate following Carmelo Hayes’ arrival in the faction.
The show opened with a recap of last week’s six-man tag team clash between The Bloodline and 946, including Hayes’ involvement and Jaida Parker getting physical.
Backstage, Reigns arrived in an Escalade and began heading into the building. Another vehicle pulled up behind him, with Zayn stepping out and walking straight past the World Heavyweight Champion. Before Roman could react, Sami’s entrance music hit.
Zayn received boos as he entered the ring and remarked that there were plenty of haters in the building. Reigns soon joined him, raising his championship as the San Diego crowd welcomed him back.
Their reunion initially appeared friendly.
“I might be the only one in here saying this, but it's good to see you.”
Reigns and Zayn embraced, with Sami explaining that he finally understood what Roman had meant about the pressure of being champion. Zayn complained about the way people treated him now that he was on top.
“The disrespect? Oh my God, what is with these people? They think they're us, Roman!”
Reigns appreciated the sentiment but paused the conversation to demand that San Diego acknowledge him. Zayn joined the crowd in raising one finger, briefly recreating a familiar Bloodline moment.
Sami said it felt like old times and admitted he often thought about their time together. Roman then suggested he had an opportunity for his former ally.
“Speaking of old times, it's funny you came here.”
“It's my show...but I have an opportunity for you. In fact...some might think it's a favor.”
Reigns spoke about the burden of carrying a championship before suggesting that another title had meant even more to Sami.
“The most important you've ever had was the title of Honorary Uce.”
Roman questioned whether Zayn had come to discuss championships or 946, whether he was motivated by greed or love, and whether he was there to serve The Bloodline.
An “Ucey” chant broke out as Sami considered his response.
“Look, Roman, I'm not gonna lie. My time in The Bloodline was some of the best time of my life, my career.”
However, Zayn made it clear that his circumstances had changed.
“Now I'm the head of my own table.”
Sami explained that he had his own responsibilities on SmackDown and needed to handle them his way as Undisputed WWE Champion. Roman answered with a remark that quickly changed the mood.
“Sami, that's a title. This is the title.”
Zayn challenged that claim, pointing out that the championship he now held had been treated as WWE’s leading title throughout Roman’s lengthy reign. He questioned whether the real issue was Roman’s arrogance.
Reigns fired back by dismissing the standing of Sami’s championship since WrestleMania 40. Zayn grew increasingly frustrated, stressing that he had spent 20 years working towards this achievement.
Sami described himself as one in a billion, noting that while billions of people lived on the planet, only one could call himself WWE Champion.
“I respect you, you know that. We're family, you know that.”
Zayn said Roman’s relaxed attitude bothered him as much as his comments. He warned that Reigns should know better than anyone how dangerous he could be.
Roman insisted that he knew exactly who he was dealing with, before taking one final swipe by suggesting Sami might still be champion when Crown Jewel arrived.
As Reigns left, Penta appeared on the entrance ramp with his customised Money in the Bank briefcase. He raised it while looking towards both champions, briefly approached Roman and then entered the ring for a face-off with Zayn.
Sami eventually departed, leaving Penta ready for his match.
The crowd firmly supported Penta as he and Breakker began with a physical exchange. Penta landed several strikes in the corner, but Breakker switched position and launched him with a German suplex.
Breakker took control through powerful strikes and takedowns, slowing the pace whenever Penta tried to gather momentum.
Penta created an opening with a headscissors takedown before targeting Breakker’s leg with low kicks. A backbreaker and springboard kick sent Bron outside, where Penta followed with a flying crossbody over the ropes.
Breakker caught him before both men went down. Bron recovered quickly and threw Penta onto the announce table, reclaiming the advantage.
The match remained competitive as Breakker used his strength to keep Penta grounded. Penta answered with sharp kicks, but Bron’s athleticism gave him another major opening when he raced up the turnbuckles and delivered a Frankensteiner for a near fall.
Breakker lowered his straps and charged across the ring, only to run into a superkick. Penta followed with the Penta Driver, but Bron kicked out.
Penta prepared for the Mexican Destroyer before Maxxine Dupri and Austin Theory appeared to distract him. He fought through the interruption, catching Breakker with another superkick and then delivering one to Theory.
However, when Penta attempted a springboard attack from the middle rope, Breakker intercepted him with a spear.
Dupri climbed onto the apron to occupy the referee while Theory collected the Money in the Bank briefcase. Before he could pass it to Breakker, Je’Von Evans rushed down and attacked him.
Evans took possession of the briefcase and struck Breakker with it. Penta capitalised immediately, connecting with the Mexican Destroyer to secure the victory.
Winner: Penta
Backstage, Jackie Redmond approached Reigns and asked how he intended to handle the growing number of threats surrounding him and The Bloodline.
Roman acknowledged that challengers were emerging from every direction and said he was trying to accommodate them. He also expressed disappointment over how his attempt to reach out to Zayn had unfolded.
Chelsea Green and IYO SKY joined forces against Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, who had Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan at ringside.
Perez and SKY opened with a sequence of wristlocks and counters. Despite being an unusual pairing, Green and SKY worked well together, using frequent tags and coordinated offence to keep Perez under pressure.
Rodriguez changed the direction of the match once she tagged in. Her power allowed her to take control of Green, and Morgan added a cheap shot by slapping Chelsea while the referee’s attention was elsewhere.
Green eventually reached SKY, who used her speed and a succession of dropkicks to challenge Rodriguez. A missile dropkick sent Raquel across the ring and into the corner.
SKY lined up a Bullet Train attack, but Rodriguez escaped to ringside. After fighting Perez off the apron, SKY appeared ready to launch herself outside. Rodriguez grabbed her leg and sent her crashing into the barricade instead.
Judgment Day isolated SKY and repeatedly prevented her from reaching Green. SKY eventually broke free and made the tag, bringing Chelsea into the match with a burst of offence against both opponents.
While Green battled inside the ring, Morgan continued targeting SKY on the floor whenever the referee was distracted.
Chelsea climbed to the top rope, but Perez occupied the official while Morgan attacked her on the turnbuckle. Green held on and fought off Rodriguez’s attempt to take advantage.
SKY recovered and stopped Perez from interfering again, allowing Green to make the tag. Chelsea then launched herself from the top rope with a crossbody onto Perez at ringside.
Inside the ring, SKY countered Rodriguez and scored the deciding fall.
Winners: Chelsea Green & IYO SKY
A recorded message from 946 followed, featuring the group alongside its newest member, Carmelo Hayes.
The faction reflected on taking its shot the previous week. Hayes said he had not missed, while Jaida Parker warned that nobody was safe.
Joe Hendry arrived with his guitar and his oversized Funko-headed companion, who carried a small bass guitar. McDonagh wasted no time getting physical, attacking Hendry from behind while he was still on the apron.
The fight continued at ringside before the match officially began. McDonagh stomped Hendry and then turned his attention towards the Funko-headed figure.
He also confronted Joe Tessitore, who was holding the McDonagh bobblehead he had received the previous week. McDonagh chased Hendry’s companion around ringside until Hendry cut him off with a clothesline.
McDonagh later snatched the bobblehead from Tessitore and threw it down. Hendry fought back against both Judgment Day members, clearing them from the ring before diving over the top rope onto the pair.
Once the match officially began, McDonagh regained control and trapped Hendry in a sleeper hold.
“An enraged JD McDonagh has taken control against Joe Hendry, one of the great recording artists of his generation.”
Hendry eventually stood up and dropped backwards, driving McDonagh into the canvas to break the hold. The two exchanged punches before Hendry blocked a strike and answered with several right hands.
Hendry caught McDonagh as he leapt towards him and delivered a fallaway slam. However, discomfort in his back slowed him down, and McDonagh avoided the Hit Single when Hendry attempted to follow up.
Dominik slid a guitar into the ring and climbed onto the apron. Hendry’s companion grabbed Dominik, creating an opening for Hendry to attack, but the distraction also allowed McDonagh to respond.
At ringside, Hendry picked up the guitar and threatened to use it. McDonagh kicked him in the stomach and took the instrument, initially shaping to strike Hendry before smashing it over the head of the Funko-headed companion.
Hendry brought the fight back into the ring, but McDonagh eventually connected with a running flying headbutt and secured the pinfall.
Winner: JD McDonagh
Footage from earlier in the day showed Bayley following Lyra Valkyria backstage. Each time Valkyria turned around, Bayley ducked out of sight.
Valkyria eventually hid near a doorway and attempted to ambush her pursuer. Unfortunately for her, the person who emerged was Lola Vice. Valkyria struck Vice by mistake, setting up their match.
Vice displayed her striking ability early, but Valkyria established control and kept the action at a measured pace.
After weathering Valkyria’s offence, Vice fought back with a series of bicycle kicks. She drove Lyra towards the corner and followed with running kicks and suplexes.
Vice attempted an armbar, but Valkyria shifted her weight and forced Lola’s shoulders towards the mat. The pair continued adjusting their positions as they fought for control, with Valkyria maintaining a grip on the arm before delivering a suplex for a pin attempt.
Valkyria climbed to the top rope but took too long to launch her next attack. Vice caught her in midair with a spinning heel kick and covered for a close two-count.
The pace increased as both women traded strikes and counters. Valkyria attempted Nightwing, but Vice slipped free and applied a rear-naked choke.
Lyra drove her backwards into the corner to try to escape, and the action eventually moved outside.
Valkyria became distracted by the possibility that Bayley was hiding beneath the ring. When the referee investigated, Bayley attacked Lyra from behind without being seen.
Vice took advantage, returning Valkyria to the ring and connecting with a spinning backfist for the win.
Winner: Lola Vice
Afterwards, Valkyria tried to follow Bayley, but Bayley confronted her and sent her retreating towards the ramp.
Bayley took a microphone and reminded Lyra that their issues would not be over until she decided they were. She then announced that they would meet the following week on Raw in a No Disqualification Match.
Rey Mysterio received a hometown welcome as he entered for the Intercontinental Championship match. Dragon Lee followed, before champion Chad Gable completed the line-up.
Gable had requested another match with Lee after their recent encounter, but Mysterio’s involvement added another challenge to his title defence.
The champion was sent over the top rope early, leaving Mysterio and Lee to exchange offence. Their friendship and mentor relationship did little to slow them down, with Lee increasing the pace and connecting with a Wrecking Ball Kick in the corner.
When Gable returned, Lee put him in another corner and delivered running attacks to both opponents.
Lee then attempted a German suplex on Mysterio, only for Gable to join the exchange and send both challengers flying with a double German suplex.
The action continued at speed, with Gable attempting an ankle lock on Mysterio before Lee intervened.
Mysterio and Lee battled around ringside, where Lee landed a baseball slide that sent Rey backwards onto the commentary table. Lee attempted to build towards another aerial attack, but Gable cut him off with a strike as he rebounded from the ropes.
Gable targeted Lee’s left knee in an effort to limit his mobility. Lee responded with kicks and forced the champion onto the apron.
Lee then raced across the ring, leapt over the ropes and used a headscissors takedown to pull Gable from the apron to the floor. Mysterio immediately followed with a dive over the top rope, catching Lee with a flying Bronco Buster.
Back inside, Mysterio used headscissors takedowns to position both opponents across the middle rope. He attempted a double 619, but Lee moved and Gable caught Rey’s legs.
Before Gable could turn that counter into a submission, Lee attacked him and sent him outside.
Lee delivered a Styles Clash to Mysterio for a near fall. When Gable returned, Lee hit a Dragon Bomb and covered, only for Rey to break up the pin.
Lee sent Gable back outside and lifted Mysterio into position for an Alabama Slam. Rey escaped, creating another opening for his signature offence.
Mysterio connected with a 619 on Gable before setting up Lee for another. He followed with a frog splash and appeared close to winning the championship, but Gable recovered just in time to break up the cover.
The champion answered with German suplexes to both challengers, then lowered his straps as he looked to finish the match.
Gable launched Mysterio with another German suplex, but Lee caught Rey as he flew backwards. Mysterio escaped Lee’s grasp and sent him out of the ring, leaving himself and Gable to contest the finish.
Rey attempted to press his advantage, but Gable countered through a quick technical exchange and held Mysterio’s shoulders down just long enough to retain.
Winner and STILL Intercontinental Champion: Chad Gable
Gable and Mysterio showed their respect after the bell, shaking hands and embracing. Their celebration was interrupted when Ethan Page attacked from behind.
Big Cass joined the assault, chokeslamming Dragon Lee across the barricade while Page pounded away at Gable. Cass then struck Mysterio with a big boot.
Inside the ring, Page delivered what appeared to be a package driver to Gable before lifting the Intercontinental Championship above his head.
Page initially began to leave, but returned to deliver a fisherman’s suplex driver. He mocked the fallen champion and raised the title again, making it clear that he intended to keep pursuing Gable.
Later, Jimmy and Jey Uso arrived backstage looking for a fight. They collected steel chairs and headed to the ring to call out 946.
Jey told the crowd that there would be no repeat of his entrance celebration because The Usos had family business to handle. After weeks of attacks, they were ready for a confrontation.
“So now 946, you want this work? Run up and get done up. Yo 946, we up in this bitch, this your warning shot!”
Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, Lucien Price and Carmelo Hayes appeared through the crowd. Keys climbed onto the announce table with a microphone while the others spread out around the ring.
Hayes was armed, and The Usos faced a four-on-two disadvantage despite having weapons of their own.
Solo Sikoa suddenly attacked Keys from behind and went after Hayes, prompting Nima and Price to enter the ring and fight The Usos.
Jimmy and Jey initially gained control with simultaneous superkicks. Jey dived onto Keys near the commentary table, while Jimmy launched himself out of the opposite side onto Nima and Price.
Sikoa brought Keys into the ring and prepared for the Samoan Spike, but Hayes struck Solo in the back of the leg with a crowbar.
That intervention swung the fight towards 946. The group used its numbers to beat down The Usos and Sikoa as the crowd called for Roman Reigns.
Jaida Parker entered and handed Keys a pair of handcuffs. Keys threatened to restrain Solo and told him to “tell Roman I'm coming for his ass.”
That brought out Reigns.
The World Heavyweight Champion marched towards the ring as 946 regrouped. Jimmy, Jey and Solo regained their footing, leaving the two sides facing off at full strength.
Reigns and Keys exchanged words before all eight men began fighting.
Roman connected with a Superman Punch on Keys, while Solo caught Hayes with a Samoan Spike. The Usos overwhelmed Nima and left him in position for a spear from Reigns.
Price escaped the ring as The Bloodline took control. With Roman, Jimmy, Jey and Solo standing tall, 946 regrouped at ringside before retreating through the crowd.
