Bayley returned to where her wrestling journey began on Sunday, making a surprise appearance at Big Time Wrestling’s 30th anniversary show in San Jose, California.

Fresh from WWE’s live events in Hawaii, Bayley headed home to celebrate with the promotion she first attended as a teenage fan before starting her career there at 18.

She thanked fans during an in-ring speech and pointed out that her mother and several friends were in the crowd. The anniversary event also featured Rob Van Dam, Andrade El Idolo, Mustafa Ali, Bandido, Mike Bailey and Zoey Serrano.

Bayley’s involvement went beyond sharing memories. She became an impromptu special guest referee for the match between her former fiancé, Aaron Solo, and Chazz “Starboy” Hall.

When Solo attempted to use a championship belt as a weapon, Bayley stepped in to stop him and accidentally struck him in the face with it. Hall followed with a reverse rana, a dive to the outside and a Shooting Star Press, with Bayley counting the pin to confirm his BTW Championship victory.

Hall later shared his excitement on social media:

“I thought I was hallucinating. Won the BTW championship and played air guitar with Bayley!”

Although her appearance had not been announced, Bayley had promoted the anniversary show on social media and teased that anyone could turn up.

The homecoming capped a busy weekend for the WWE star. On Friday in Honolulu, she competed in a four-way match that saw Sol Ruca defeat Bayley, IYO SKY and Lyra Valkyria. Bayley then defeated Valkyria in a street fight at Saturday’s event.
