An encouraging update has emerged on R-Truth after his match against Damian Priest was stopped early on Friday’s WWE SmackDown.
Truth appeared to suffer an injury after delivering a top-rope dropkick, bringing the contest to an unexpected end.
Bryan Alvarez reported on Sunday that Truth appears to be doing all right and is due to be evaluated next week. Details of the apparent injury remain unclear.
“Don’t have any details other than Truth appears to be all right and will be evaluated next week. All the best to him on a quick recovery.”
The match marked Truth’s first in-ring appearance since Priest attacked him on the September 11 episode of SmackDown in Mexico City. That confrontation followed their unsuccessful challenge against the War Raiders for the AAA World Tag Team titles.
Before their partnership fell apart, Truth and Priest enjoyed a 147-day reign as WWE Tag Team Champions. They captured the titles from JC Mateo and Tama Tonga on March 20 before losing them to Talla Tonga and Tama Tonga on the August 14 edition of SmackDown in Boston.
For now, the update offers some reassurance as Truth awaits further evaluation.
