WWE NXT’s Canadian tour brought title matches and familiar faces to Ontario this week, although an injury brought the Sudbury show to an early finish.

Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana and Shawn Spears were among those in action across the first two stops of the three-date tour.

The opening event took place at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Thursday, October 15, with a reported attendance of 2,043. Three championships were defended, with all champions retaining their titles.

Results from Kitchener, courtesy of CageMatch.net, were as follows:

• Hank Walker and Tank Ledger defeated DarkState’s Cutler James and Osiris Griffin.

• Lizzy Rain defeated Arianna Grace.

• Jackson Drake retained the NXT North American Championship against Saquon Shugars.

• Kendal Grey defeated Karmen Petrovic.

• Cruz Montana defeated Dion Lennox by disqualification following interference from DarkState.

• The Vanity Project’s Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes retained the NXT Tag Team Championship against Bravo Americano and Rayo Americano.

• Zaria retained the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Thea Hail and Izzi Dame in a three-way match.

• Shiloh Hill, Tavion Heights, Tony D’Angelo and Shawn Spears defeated BirthRight’s Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors and Stacks Lorenzo.

After the Kitchener event, Spears suggested that the appearance could have been his final performance in Canada. He also competed the following evening in Sudbury.

Friday’s event at the Sudbury Community Arena featured a largely unchanged line-up. However, the closing eight-man tag team match was stopped after Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo reportedly suffered an injury.

Lorenzo was reportedly hurt while taking a back body drop over the ropes to the floor. He was taken from ringside on a stretcher, with Bryan Alvarez later reporting that he had been hospitalised.

Results from Sudbury on October 16, as reported by Wrestling Bodyslam, were as follows:

• Hank Walker and Tank Ledger defeated DarkState’s Cutler James and Osiris Griffin.
