Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo was taken to hospital following an incident during the main event of Friday’s WWE NXT live show in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
Bryan Alvarez provided an update on Lorenzo, while stressing that the details surrounding the incident remained unconfirmed.
“Stacks is in the hospital following an incident that happened at an NXT house show. The unconfirmed report is that he took a backdrop or something over the top to the floor, landed bad and the match was stopped. All the best to him.”
Lorenzo was competing alongside fellow Birthright members against Tony D’Angelo, Tavion Heights, Shiloh Hill and Shawn Spears in an eight-man tag team match.
According to a fan report posted on Reddit, Lorenzo was hurt after taking a back body drop to the floor. The account claimed medical staff attended to him before he was fitted with a neck brace and taken away on a stretcher.
Reports differed over how the match finished, although the show ended with Uriah Connors being put through a table. The information provided did not confirm the nature or severity of Lorenzo’s injury.
Friday also saw a match stopped on WWE SmackDown when R-Truth was unable to continue against Damian Priest after delivering a missile dropkick. Truth was conscious and moving following the move, but the bout was thrown out.
Priest then retrieved a steel chair before Fraxiom intervened and checked on Truth. Priest dropped the chair and left to close the segment.
We wish both Lorenzo and R-Truth well. Would you like to leave a message of support? Share your thoughts in the comments.
