Max Caster’s controversial TNA debut has raised questions about his next move, with Bryan Alvarez suggesting the fallout could also affect any future opportunity with WWE.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez claimed the concerns go beyond Caster’s Riyadh lyric at Bound For Glory. He said people he had spoken to described repeated issues in AEW involving Caster’s willingness to follow instructions.
“He got in trouble so many times over the same thing in AEW. The way it was described to me, Max Caster is a very hard-headed guy, and if you tell him no, he’s gonna do it anyway. And he got in trouble many times in AEW for this.”
Alvarez suggested that a similar situation in TNA could give WWE pause if it ever considers signing Caster. In his view, the potential sticking point would be whether the company could trust him to follow creative direction.
“Now the same thing in TNA, and after this, it’s not sure if WWE will consider hiring him. It’s not even so much what was said, as opposed to what WWE does not want is someone, if you say don’t do that, they will do it anyway. And Max has a tendency to do just that.”
The comments follow reports that Caster’s Riyadh line was neither scripted nor approved by TNA before his entrance. TNA subsequently removed the entrance video from its social media, while earlier reports suggested his future appearances with the company were in doubt.
Alvarez’s remarks raise the possibility of wider consequences for Caster, but they do not establish that WWE has made a decision about hiring him. For now, the discussion centres on how the controversy and the reported concerns about following instructions could influence future opportunities.
