Tiffany Stratton has won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match for the second time, securing the briefcase after a dramatic battle in New Orleans.
Stratton beat Sol Ruca, Lash Legend, Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice and Roxanne Perez at WWE Money in the Bank on October 10 at the Smoothie King Center. All six competitors had earned their places by winning triple threat qualifying matches.
An early scare threatened to derail Stratton’s night when she appeared to slip while launching herself from a ladder towards the other competitors at ringside. She landed heavily on her back and immediately reached for the back of her head. WWE personnel checked on her before she returned to the action.
Ruca also found herself in a difficult position after a ladder was pulled away while she was hanging from the briefcase. With nowhere to go, she dropped into three competitors below.
She later delivered a huge splash onto Legend through a ladder positioned between the ring and the commentary desk.
Another heavy landing followed when Vice locked Jayne in a chokehold near the top of a ladder. Both fell backwards onto a second ladder bridged inside the ring, which shifted and sent them tumbling to the floor.
The closing stretch saw Ruca hit Perez with a Sol Snatcher before Legend took Ruca out and began climbing towards the briefcase.
Stratton met Legend at the top and used the hanging briefcase to knock her off the ladder. With the path clear, Stratton unhooked it to claim her second Money in the Bank victory.
With her best friend currently holding a women’s championship, Stratton’s latest win adds another intriguing possibility to the title picture.
