Trick Williams has a message for Cody Rhodes: the WWE United States Championship will not be his any time soon.
During an appearance on the Flagrant podcast, Rhodes reflected on the few achievements still missing from his WWE career. The United States title is among them, although he admitted he doubts he will ever hold it.
That caught the attention of reigning champion Williams, who offered a short, confident response on X.
“At least no time soon,” Williams wrote.
Rhodes has remained firmly in the world championship picture since returning to WWE, leaving a potential United States title pursuit as an interesting possibility rather than an established direction.
Williams, meanwhile, has an opportunity to add another major achievement to his own career this Saturday. He will compete in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, with the winner securing a briefcase that guarantees a future world championship opportunity.
Rhodes will not be joining him in the match after rival Randy Orton cost him his chance to qualify.
The Flagrant appearance also brought news about Rhodes’ long-term future. He confirmed that he has re-signed with WWE and intends to spend the remainder of his wrestling career with the company.
Rhodes also discussed his retirement plans, saying he hopes to finish wrestling by the time his daughter turns 11 in 2032.
The interview formed part of his promotional tour for Street Fighter, which opens on October 16. Rhodes plays Guile in the film, while Flagrant host Andrew Schulz appears as Dan Hibiki.
