Gurv Sihra has shared an update on his recovery after suffering a collapsed lung during a match, revealing that his lung is still leaking air more than two weeks after the injury.
The former WWE star, known to fans as Sunil Singh, remains unable to wrestle or fly. However, there was some encouraging news from his latest appointment, as he can begin working out again.
Posting on The Bollywood Boyz’ X account on Tuesday, Sihra explained:
“Quick update: Just finished my follow up with my ER Trauma Doctor. X-rays show I still have a cut on my lung tissue from rib impact which is leaking some air from my lungs. Obviously still not cleared for in ring or flying. However, I’m able to start working out, which is great.”
The injury happened on September 19 during a Pure Power Wrestling event in Lethbridge, Alberta. Sihra and his brother Harv defeated Shaun Martens and Sydney Steele to win the PPW Tag Team Championship, but the victory came with a frightening ordeal.
Sihra said a routine move he had performed many times caused the collapsed lung. He managed to finish the match before struggling to breathe and stand up backstage.
In his first account of the incident, he described himself as “lucky to be alive” and shared the words of the emergency room doctor:
“You are very lucky that to be alive. You had angels watching over you.”
Sihra, 41, spent five years with WWE alongside his brother, joining in 2016. The pair appeared in the Cruiserweight Classic and on 205 Live as The Bollywood Boyz before becoming The Singh Brothers in 2017.
They became familiar faces alongside Jinder Mahal during his WWE Championship reign, while Sihra also held the 24/7 Championship in 2019.
Following their WWE releases in June 2021, the brothers continued wrestling on the independent circuit. Their appearances have included DEFY Wrestling, AEW Dark: Elevation and Ring of Honor. They also won the WSW Tag Team Championship in Australia in 2025.
For now, Sihra’s return to the ring remains on hold as his recovery continues. Being able to exercise again offers a welcome step forward.
