WWE NXT has a new sound, with Shawn Michaels announcing Drake’s “Shabang” as the brand’s official opening theme.
Michaels revealed the change on X ahead of the October 6 episode, sharing a video featuring himself and several NXT stars with the new track.
“Nobody does it quite like this crew,” Michaels wrote.
“New music. Same show-stealing Superstars. ‘Shabang’ by @Drake is the new opening theme for #WWENXT. Turn it up!!”
“Shabang” features on Drake’s 2026 album ICEMAN, released on May 15. It takes over from “Millions From Now” by Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, which had opened NXT since 2024.
Drake already has a connection to WWE, having attended Elimination Chamber in 2025. Following that appearance, the rapper said he was “sold” on WWE.
The music change arrived alongside a busy October 6 card, featuring a 20-woman battle royal to determine the next challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic also featured two first-round matches. Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux were scheduled to face the Tokyo Bad Boys, while Hank and Tank defeated Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov.
Elsewhere, Naraku was booked to face Shiloh Hill, and Zilla Fatu picked up a victory over Lexis King.
