AEW Grand Slam France Results: Will Ospreay Retains Against Kazuchika Okada

AEW brought Grand Slam: France to the Adidas Arena in Paris on October 6, 2026, with four championships on the line and more developments on the road to WrestleDream.

The taped edition of Dynamite aired on TBS and HBO Max, headlined by Will Ospreay defending the AEW World Championship against Kazuchika Okada. Elsewhere, Samoa Joe faced Jack Perry for a place in Clockwork Carnage, while Bandido, Darby Allin and Mercedes Moné defended their titles.

ROH World Championship Match: Bandido (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston arrived alongside his New Level teammate Austin Creed, while Brody King accompanied ROH World Champion Bandido. The competitors observed the Code of Honor before getting down to business.

An early exchange of arm holds and counters showed how evenly matched they were. Both men landed on their feet after attempted monkey flips, before Bandido tripped Kingston and secured the first near fall.

Kingston responded with a dropkick that sent the champion outside. When Bandido moved away from a potential dive, Kingston quickly adjusted and launched himself over the ropes on the opposite side to take him out.

Kingston then attempted a crossbody from the top rope, but Bandido caught him and showed off his strength by holding him aloft before delivering a delayed vertical suplex.

Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana appeared at ringside, followed shortly afterwards by Hangman Adam Page. Their presence created a tense atmosphere outside the ring as the match continued through a commercial break.

Kingston built momentum with a scissor kick, a dropkick and a corner kick, following up with a splash for two. He added a leg drop, but Bandido avoided Trouble in Paradise.

The champion fought his way out of the corner and connected with a tornillo for a near fall. Kingston answered with another powerful takedown, keeping the pressure on as the pair traded offence.

Bandido landed a pop-up knee strike, only for Kingston to put him down again. A series of kicks helped the champion resist another corner attack, but Kingston recovered to suplex him into the turnbuckles.

Kingston climbed to the top and landed a splash across Bandido’s back for another two-count. Bandido later threatened to finish the match, but Kingston placed his foot on the bottom rope to stop the count. An attempted X-Knee also failed to settle things, with Kingston countering into another near fall.

Outside the ring, Page and Strickland confronted one another, prompting King and Creed to step between them.

With the commotion unfolding at ringside, Bandido sent Kingston into the ropes and hit the .5 Plex. That was enough to secure the pin and retain the ROH World Championship.

Winner via pinfall and still ROH World Champion: Bandido

A video package outlined Clockwork Carnage, the AEW World Championship match scheduled for WrestleDream. Samoa Joe and Jack Perry would compete for a place later in the show, while the evening’s main event would decide whether Ospreay or Okada entered WrestleDream as champion.

Backstage, Ospreay explained that beating Okada mattered both to proving himself and to reaching the match he had created with the championship still in his possession. He described Clockwork Carnage as combining elements of the Casino Gauntlet and an Iron Man Match.

Speedball Mike Bailey made his own title ambitions clear. Bailey was set to face Lee Moriarty on Collision for an opportunity to earn a place in Clockwork Carnage, and he wished Ospreay luck ahead of the main event.

Clockwork Carnage World Title Qualifying Match: Samoa Joe vs. Jack Perry

After a commercial break, Samoa Joe headed to the ring while an inset promo featured his message for Jack Perry. Perry followed, with a place in WrestleDream’s world title match at stake.

Perry wasted no time charging at Joe, but the bigger man launched him into the air and sent him crashing down. Perry regrouped in the corner, avoided Joe’s next charge and fired off chops and kicks, although Joe initially refused to go down.

A clothesline finally took Joe off his feet. Perry kept attacking in the corner, but another charge proved costly when Joe caught him with a uranage.

The fight moved outside, where Joe punished Perry with chops and sent him over the barricade into the crowd. Joe then brought him back to ringside and delivered a suplex onto the floor before returning him to the ring.

A chop to the back, a kick and an elbow drop kept Joe firmly in command. Whenever Perry tried to stand, Joe chopped him back down.

Perry eventually found an opening with a thrust kick. He forced Joe into the corner, landed punches and repeatedly used his boot to drive Joe’s head into the turnbuckle. Joe answered by putting him back on the mat.

Another kick gave Perry the chance to attempt a piledriver, but Joe blocked it. Perry switched to a sunset flip for two and immediately applied the Snare Trap, forcing Joe to grab the ropes.

Back outside, Joe dropped Perry hard and returned to the ring, leaving his opponent facing the referee’s count. Perry only just reached the apron at nine to stay in the contest.

The pair fought in the corner before Joe secured the Coquina Clutch. Perry found a clever escape, bridging backwards to pin Joe’s shoulders for a two-count and force him to release the submission.

That reprieve did not last. Joe sent Perry into the corner again, delivered the Muscle Buster and covered him for the victory, booking his place in Clockwork Carnage.

Winner via pinfall and advancing to Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream: Samoa Joe

Following Joe’s celebration, a vignette showed Kazuchika Okada in Paris. Looking ahead to the main event, Okada made clear that he intended to make history by taking the AEW World Championship from Ospreay.

Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Gabe Kidd) vs. Don Callis Family (Mark Davis & Jake Doyle)

Gabe Kidd and Jake Doyle opened the contest, with Doyle scoring an early takedown before Jon Moxley tagged in.

Moxley briefly took control and brought Kidd back into the action. Kidd drove Doyle into the corner, but a back elbow stopped his progress. The two continued trading offence before Mark Davis entered.

All four men soon became involved. Moxley sent Davis outside and attempted a dive, only for Davis to cut him off. Their fight continued at ringside, where they struck one another with clotheslines.

Inside the ring, Doyle flattened Kidd with a clothesline. Moxley later regained the advantage and tried to secure the Bulldog Choke, but Doyle escaped.

Davis tagged in, took Moxley down and then targeted Kidd on the floor. Doyle also returned to the action, putting Moxley down for a two-count as the Don Callis Family worked to keep control.

Davis attempted the pendulum piledriver, but Moxley escaped and reached his corner. Doyle tried to prevent the tag, yet Kidd made it into the match.

Kidd connected with two lariats before Davis answered with an enziguri. Another lariat from Kidd earned a near fall, while a further pin attempt was broken up by Doyle.

Doyle looked to deliver a powerbomb, but Moxley intervened, secured a rear choke and dragged him out of the ring.

That left Davis and Kidd to settle things inside. Kidd bounced straight back up from a backdrop, and Davis also showed his resilience during the exchange before landing a lariat.

Davis followed with the pendulum piledriver and pinned Kidd to give the Don Callis Family the win.

Winners via pinfall: Don Callis Family (Mark Davis & Jake Doyle)

As Davis and Doyle celebrated, a graphic confirmed that Davis would challenge Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship at WrestleDream.

A separate video package promoted Nick Wayne against Chris Jericho for the Grand Slam: France edition of Collision.

TNT Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher

Kyle Fletcher challenged Darby Allin in a title match that quickly became a punishing ringside battle.

Fletcher gained the early advantage by throwing Allin into the guardrail. The champion responded by climbing the nearest turnbuckle and launching himself onto Fletcher, sending both men over the barricade and through the timekeeper’s table.

Allin returned to the ring as the referee started counting, but he soon went back on the attack, diving onto Fletcher as the challenger approached.

Fletcher recovered and brought Allin onto the announce table for a possible brainbuster. Allin escaped and tried a Code Red, only for Fletcher to counter and send him face-first into the French announce table.

Once back inside, Allin caught Fletcher in a front guillotine. Fletcher powered free and slammed the champion to the canvas twice, maintaining control as the broadcast went to a break.

Fletcher later blocked a Scorpion Death Drop and sent Allin into the corner. The champion fought back and put Fletcher down, with the challenger pulling away a turnbuckle cover during the exchange.

Fletcher regained the upper hand and attempted another brainbuster, but Allin countered into a cradle for two. A Michinoku Driver brought Fletcher a near fall of his own.

Allin then landed a Code Red in the corner and another in the centre of the ring, yet Fletcher still kicked out.

With Fletcher on the apron, Allin climbed to the top for a Coffin Drop. The challenger avoided it, sent Allin into the corner and followed a boot with a sheer-drop brainbuster. Allin survived the resulting cover.

A half-and-half suplex left the champion crawling towards the corner. Allin tried to fight back, but Fletcher caught him with a forearm before spotting the exposed turnbuckle.

Fletcher lifted Allin and delivered a brainbuster onto the uncovered turnbuckle. Allin fell to the floor, while Fletcher also went down after hurting his knee during the move.

The challenger recovered enough to bring Allin back inside, but even that brutal attack only produced a two-count.

Fletcher attempted to follow with a powerbomb. Allin escaped and sent him into the exposed turnbuckle, creating an opening to apply the Scorpion Deathlock.

Fletcher reached the ropes to force a break, but Allin was ready to finish the job. The champion landed one Coffin Drop, climbed back to the top and delivered a second before securing the three-count.

Winner via pinfall and still TNT Champion: Darby Allin

After Allin celebrated, comments from The Dogs and The Young Bucks set the stage for their AEW World Tag Team Championship match on the Grand Slam: France edition of Collision.

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Queen Aminata

A backstage promo from Queen Aminata aired before the challenger made her entrance. Mercedes Moné followed with the AEW Women’s World Championship, and Aminata quickly took the initiative once the bell rang.

Moné fought back and sent Aminata into the corner. The challenger regained control and attempted the Chocolate Kisses, but Moné escaped and resumed her attack.

A mistake from the champion gave Aminata another opening. This time, she connected with the Chocolate Kisses before a dropkick sent Moné out of the ring.

Aminata was still in control after the commercial break. She earned a near fall and suplexed Moné into the corner, but the champion avoided a follow-up hip attack.

Moné rolled Aminata up for two, and the challenger answered with a roll-up of her own. Moné then attempted the Three Amigos, only for Aminata to counter with a neckbreaker for another close count.

The champion responded with a sunset flip powerbomb into the corner. Aminata answered with a face wash and a diving foot stomp, but Moné again escaped the pin.

A running knee sent Moné through the ropes. Aminata returned her to the ring, only for the champion to roll out on the other side.

At ringside, Moné caught Aminata and drove her into the announce table. She then set up a chair, seated the challenger on it and charged forward.

Aminata moved, leaving Moné to crash face-first into the chair. The challenger turned the tables by seating Moné on it and launching a dropkick from the apron.

Back in the ring, Aminata climbed to the top rope for another stomp, but Moné avoided the move. The champion capitalised with a Lungblower, followed by the Money Maker, to score the pin and retain her title.

Winner via pinfall and still AEW Women’s World Champion: Mercedes Moné

Thekla’s music hit immediately afterwards. Moné left the ring as her WrestleDream challenger arrived, but Thekla took possession of the championship belt. Moné demanded its return as the tension between them grew.

Another video package examined the problems between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, including the impact on their respective trios. A challenge was issued for Page and Brodido to face the champions in a Two Out of Three Falls match for the titles at WrestleDream.

AEW World Championship Match: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Kazuchika Okada

Kazuchika Okada entered alongside Don Callis for the main event, before Will Ospreay arrived to defend the AEW World Championship.

The match began cautiously, with both men testing the other before Ospreay connected with a headscissors. Okada escaped to the floor and took his time, even starting to walk towards the entrance ramp with Callis following.

Okada eventually returned and took Ospreay to the ropes. The champion avoided the challenger’s next attacks, forcing Okada to halt himself at the ropes before they moved into a test of strength.

Ospreay broke free, picked up speed and sent Okada outside. A corkscrew dive over the ropes took out the challenger, and Ospreay brought him back inside for a scoop slam and knee drop that earned two.

Okada changed the direction of the match by kicking Ospreay’s knee in the corner. He then sent the champion to the floor and took control as the broadcast went to a break.

Ospreay fought back with a kick off the ropes and kept Okada grounded before landing a top-rope crossbody for a near fall.

The champion teased a double-underhook move before charging into the corner, where Okada caught him with a neckbreaker across the knee. A scoop slam and top-rope elbow drop followed.

Ospreay blocked a Rainmaker attempt and sent Okada into the corner, but the challenger met him with a boot. Ospreay answered with an enziguri, Okada fired back with a dropkick, and the champion then found a roll-up for two.

Both men returned to their feet and traded strikes. Ospreay eventually kicked Okada onto the apron and followed with an Oscutter that sent him crashing to the floor.

Okada narrowly beat the referee’s count and attempted the Rainmaker. Ospreay went for another Oscutter, but Okada intercepted him with a dropkick and landed the Rainmaker for a near fall.

A second attempt was avoided, allowing Ospreay to deliver a Rainmaker of his own. Okada kicked out at one.

Ospreay followed with a string of strikes and the Styles Clash, but the challenger again survived.

Okada rallied with two more Rainmakers and attempted a third. Ospreay stopped him with a back elbow, moved to the corner and connected with the Hidden Blade.

Even that was not enough to keep Okada down. Ospreay lifted him for the Storm Breaker, yet another near fall followed.

The champion returned to the corner and delivered a further Hidden Blade. This time, Ospreay secured the three-count to retain the AEW World Championship.

Winner via pinfall and still AEW World Champion: Will Ospreay

Speedball Mike Bailey joined Ospreay in the ring after the match. A graphic promoted Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream, followed by a rundown of the Grand Slam: France Collision card.

Samoa Joe then appeared on the entrance ramp. Having qualified earlier in the night, Joe stared down Ospreay from the stage as the champion stood in the ring with his title.

That final confrontation closed Grand Slam: France, with Ospreay’s next championship challenge already coming into focus.
