NJPW is bringing a touch of Hollywood to King of Pro Wrestling 2026 through a new collaboration with the upcoming Street Fighter film.
The promotional partnership will see the movie’s logo featured on the ring mat and corner posts at Tokyo’s Sumo Hall on Monday, October 12. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 16.
NJPW’s own Hirooki Goto plays E. Honda in the adaptation of the popular video game franchise. He is joined by WWE stars Cody Rhodes as Guile and Roman Reigns as Akuma, giving wrestling fans three familiar faces to look out for.
Goto currently has no match announced for King of Pro Wrestling following his unsuccessful challenge against IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji at Destruction in Kobe.
Tsuji will headline the October 12 event, defending his championship against G1 Climax 2026 winner Ryohei Oiwa. The show is a major stop on the road to Wrestle Kingdom 21 and will stream live on NJPW World with English commentary available.
Four championship matches have been confirmed so far:
IWGP Heavyweight Championship: Yota Tsuji defends against Ryohei Oiwa.
IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship: Gabe Kidd defends against Shota Umino.
NEVER Openweight Championship: Aaron Wolf defends against Kosei Fujita.
NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship: HENARE, Great-O-Khan and Will Ospreay defend against Yuto-Ice, OSKAR and Jeff Cobb.
