Enzo Amore has clarified his criticism of AEW after an interview with Maven resurfaced, saying his comments were recorded long before the promotion’s tribute show for PAC.

During the interview, the former WWE star criticised reports of backstage fighting and private locker room issues becoming public.

“Fck AEW for all the pssy ass fighting that they do over there and letting it leak and sh*t. We are some badasses that you got to keep some credibility in that locker room.”

Addressing the interview on X, Enzo praised AEW’s tribute to PAC, whose real name was Ben Satterley, and questioned the timing of the video’s release.

“I talked to Maven in March of 2025. He waited to come off the heels of a beautiful tribute show for PAC to post the interview. I thought the tribute show was absolute class. Everyone who paid tribute, thank you for honoring Ben. I’m still grieving, Maven is clearly not.”

A comment posted beneath Maven’s interview offered an explanation for the delayed release, although it gave a different recording date. Enzo said the conversation took place in March 2025, while the comment stated May 2025.

According to that explanation, the original video included Enzo reacting to Simon Gotch’s well-known interview criticising him. Enzo subsequently asked for that section to be removed, and the remaining footage was initially shelved.

“Hey guys. We filmed this video with Enzo back in May 2025. Originally, we had him react to the infamous Simon Gotch interview in which Simon buried Enzo. However, after we finished filming, Enzo texted me and asked us to cut that part.

“Without that reaction, we decided not to release it. However, after I shared the story in another video, many of you asked us to release whatever we could. Since last Friday’s video was shorter, we figured, why not? Hope you guys enjoy.”

While the recording dates differ, both accounts place the interview in 2025. Enzo’s latest statement makes clear that he appreciated AEW’s efforts to honour PAC.
